Finally: Alpha Z Tower Mirror

My dealer had an RZ for sale that had the Samson and I will agree with Cek1 about the lack of adjustability. You would not think that looking at it mounted. The PTM comes with rubber mounts and did not scratch my windshield frame.

I like it. The quick release is awesome. 10 seconds and your done. No scratching up the windshield frame either. The mirror itself desnt really adjust. I find myself moving around in the seat a lot trying to keep an eye on the person in the water. Very well made IMO

How present are the tower speakers in the mirror view? A report in a previous thread indicated that the speakers were fairly dominant in the rear view. Thanks.

I have this mount and mirror on my boat, as mentioned elsewhere the are very well built but not a lot of adjustment at the mirror. You do see a lot of Speaker (I have rev 10's) but sitting with the bolster up and on my throw cushion you get a pretty good view of surfers not so much of Wakeboarders. I will look for a pick that shows the view from the mirror

There was talk in previous threads about a distinct obstruction in visibility due to the Rev speakers. I would really like to see a picture from the driver's perspective to see just how much the rear view is/isn't obstructed. There must be a few of these out there ...

With the Rev 8" or 10"? Reason i ask is because the Samson 8" pod is wider then the Wet Sounds 8" Rev-8 and just a little smaller then the Wet Sounds 10" Rev-10

I run 4 Rev 10's on my tower, so this would be my biggest concern. As much as I like the look of my Rev's, I'd rather not see them in the mirror .

I guess what im getting at is, you would think that Samson would take a large speaker pod into consideration in the design, considering they have one thats nearly as wide as a Rev-10.

And I would agree, but I do recall there being some discussion around this as a potential issue. I've never seen it backed up or refuted by anyone who actually has one installed. Gwhite, it would be great if you can find a shot of the rearview for clarification. Thanks.

I just installed my Samson mirror and bracket, it sure high above the windshield. Which I like actually, but for a wake boarder or tuber I can't really see anything in the right side. If not the speakers, then the wakeboard and racks. It has a pretty clear view of any surfing though which is what we do most of. I'm happy with it.

It sure looks good! I'm not very hopeful for the rearview in my application as I have 4 REV 10's. Thanks for posting up the pictures.!
