Perfect - exactly what I was talking about. I used a right angle connector, but otherwise mine is just like that. I haven't found it necessary to tyrap the barb connection, it is tight and never leaks.

Congrats on making oil changes almost fun!

I did this at the beginning of the season and yes, it does make it way easier. I just wanted to post a picture for Jetter and anyone else that is looking to do this. ya, a tie wrap or hose clamp isn't needed on the end. Did a quick oil change on the weekend.

Plus swap hoses (three are included with the Mityvac 7400, for example) and you can also drain the transmission and v-drive, allowing you to handle all fluid maintenance responsibilities while sitting in the water at the lake. A fluid extractor and a digital multimeter should be standard equipment possessed by anyone who owns a powerboat.

Thanks for the pic! The end of my drain hose has a male plug in it so I would need a male fitting to the white pump hose.

            Hi guys!
Doing a service on the 21v right now. I found the drain hose attached to my wiring harness. I unhooked it and was able feed it out my hull drain. I removed the plug expecting oil to start draining. I'm getting a very small trickle to maybe drips. I thought it would just drain. I then blew air through the hose, thinking it may be plugged with sludge. I could hear the air in the crank case bubbling. But still no drain. I then hooked my hand pump to the top of the dip stick tube and was able to pump out a lot of oil. There must be a few qts left though. I'm just sucking air now. What am I doing wrong here? How do I get it all out, or is it normal to leave a few qts behind?
            Thanks.

Should have started the engine and warmed the oil first.

I ran it for about 10 min before draining.

It would take longer than that to warm the oil, minimum of 15 to 20 minutes.

Assuming warm oil temp, anyone know what I should expect to have happen when I remove the plug from the oil drain line?

Anyways I guess I did get most of it out. It took 5 qts to fill it full after running it a bit between fill ups.

Now I see my water pump leaking out the weep hole.

Gravity draining will take some hours for it to drain. We would let them drain overnight sometimes.

Why so long? What's it doing?
