    thoughts on RZ4

long time stalker first time posting. Just sold my bu, 2005 21vlx used straight line sacs and could surf behind it, very close to the boat though could never get the length. Local dealer has a 2016 rz4 coming in. any thoughts opinions suggestions ideas. Still wakeboard a lot but surfing is working into the rotation. been on the z3 and like it but the rz4 has my interests and its different. wont ever be a pro or on a podium but with family and kids we would have a crew of 10 most of the time. Kept my sacs just incase. most opinions will say the z3 but I just need one that says the rz4 will work. Would b a large change in tech and boat. Any input would b greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think the word on the street is that the Z3 is a little challenging to get a great wakeboard wake. It is a surf boat first and foremost.
    Be excellent to one another.

I personally love my rz4. so much I wont sell it, or change boats.. . It can surf great, puts out a great board wake, and will seat your 10 people just fine. I think like tall says if your out to primarily surf.. yeah get a z3. We wakeboard 95% of the time so its been a great boat for us.

compared to other boat mfg's if you weight it down alot you will have to ride a bit faster to clean up the wake is all. that might be the only down side to some.

Love the room in the RZ4, would love to get one with a AVX. Great Surf wave IMO, tall wave but not a super long pocket like the Z3, however a AVX should help with that.

I love my RZ4 I have had 2 of them. If you add weight you will need to ride 22+ to get the wake clean at wake board wakes, With the surf wave you will need to fill the front full and surf side full then add some off side rear weight (just a few hundred pounds and you will have a nice surf wave. (depending on the amount of peeps in the boat you will need to adjust this set up a bit). Good luck with your purchase...

Good to hear the positive feedback. Boarding still going to b a major part of the use. New question dealer asked is that they r leaning away from avx an going to a system for switching ballast between sides. I guess so u can surf both sides simultaneously. I think the avx is worth having over surf switch. Ur thoughts. Thanks for any input.

Guess I described it wrong. Not for switching ballast but for making wave switch like the bu's do so I'm under the impression the avx is for surf only an not used on boarding. So surf switch wouldn't affect wake quality an only enhance surf quality. At the present time I can barely surf goofy but mayb sum day. I'm sure I got y'all confused as I'm very much disorientated. Just don't want to make a bad decision. Thanks for understanding

From strictly a resale perspective I would add whatever new surf devices Tige has planned for 2016, it seems all Wake boat manufacturers have added something. I have the VX version (non adjustable) on my 14 and it did not change the Wakeboard wake at all, but did improve the surf wave significantly with proper weight.

My 2015 has the AVX and we love it. It's fun to play with and you can make big changes to the wave. We usually surf with 6-8 people and most like the AVX somewhere different. I like the lay out of my boat an plenty of room for all.

There are some significant changes coming for 2016, I can't let the cat out of the bag yet but it will be worth the wait. I'd also ask your dealer to verify that the RZ4 is a 2016 as the rumors I hear is that it is being replaced.

Lots of good info. U all helped me decide that the rz4 was a good idea. I ordered a new one so when it shows an we get a test run I will let u all no. Hadn't herd about them doing away the 4 but sounds like it will have quite a few bells an whistles that I'm not use to. Will b posting sum pics an prolly lots of questions. Will prolly call dealer an ask more questions tonight. Thanks for all the info.
