Z3, AVX, Wake9 Ballast and a Full Load of People

I still can't get over this wake. The AVX allows you to compensate for just about any weight. Normally when you have a lot more extra weight in the back, you have to also add a bunch up front to balance out or you get a shorter, steeper beast. It will have lots of push though. You can crank down the taps, but that kills the push. But if you adjust the VX down, it DOESN'T kill the push. Its like just having a longer boat. The wake is bigger, lots of push, and the same great shape and transition.

Try it and see for yourself, its truly outstanding. Video coming, but here are some frame grabs. Keep in mind that all of these frame grabs are from a GOPRO Hero4, but NOT at wide. So it is NOT distorted, this is the NARROW field of view so it looks as natural as from an iPhone. I could put it on wide and get that HUGE super distorted look, but this is what it looks like with your eyeball also if you were in the boat.

This is a great shot, because normally RJ rides at like AVX 8ish, and T at around 7 and Jessie at around 6. But with all of the extra people weight, we just compensate down and look how you can still have a great mellow wake for Jessie with AVX at 4.

Kyle normal rides about AVX 7 (which is like 8 at same weight for goofy) but this is at 6.

I like to call this shot, "Oh mama." Because the AVX makes the regular and goofy sides as equal as possible. Both sides can go to the full potential, its just a bit easier on regular with a lot of people due to driver side and seating.

I know this comes across as super fan boy, but come out on the boat with me and you will understand. Its that good and we haven't modified the boat in any way.

Those are some awesome looking waves. I still haven't graduated the 13 z1 wave yet so I'm good for now lol.

I hear you. I would love to see how the AVX does on the Z1, we only tried it with a prototype that wasn't this good. I am sure I will get a chance sooner or later.

Ragboy, when I rode your last Z3 a couple years ago, the curl on the goofy side could grab your feet if you drifted up into it. You could actually ride further back by avoiding the curl and ride further away from the curl if that makes sense. It took me a couple times to learn that when I dropped back to gain speed, I had to avoid the curl. It appears with the AVX, that the goofy side curl is "softer" and less prominent from pics. Is that true?

The curl is bigger and "grabbier" the slower you go, or the steeper the AVX. So if you like the wave a bit steeper, got a bit faster, like 11.6 or 11.8, but if you go 11.2 with avx steeper, the curl can be bigger than you want.

It takes some time to get used to because it defies reason, but faster makes a longer, bigger wake with more push, but its more challenging to ride a bit faster.

Come to Missouri and you are welcome to ride our Z1 with AVX all day. The wife and I even joked about buying RJ a plane ticket to come help dial in our boat.
