Z1 won't accelerate after maintaining prolonged speed. Ideas?

My 08 Z1 won't accelerate after cruising at a set speed for a while.

    Examples:
1 - Speedset set to 20 pulling a tube. Turn off speedset then try to accelerate and it won't. Almost behaves like the speedset is still on. If I slow down then give it gas it will go.
2 - Speedset set to 10.6 surfing. Rider falls and after quick turn to pick up want to accelerate over wave so I don't tidal wave the bow. It sometimes won't go.

    Any ideas anyone?

Mine acts like that as well. Once you set the speed set and then turn it off you then need to back off your throttle to totally disengage the speed set. Let me know if you find out if this is a defect but I have gotten use to it.

It is not a defect, it is how the speedset functions on these boats. Think of it as a "fail safe". If towing a surfer and you accidentally bump the speedset button off then it is a good thing the boat doesnt slam the throttle and take off. It is safer to have to slow down then be able to accel.

And you should never turn going fast enough to bow wash your boat anyways..STOP POWER TURNING. Simply stop the boat let the waves pass then slowly turn around and you will never wash your passengers again.

Makes perfect sense now that you explain it. Hopefully at some point I'll graduate from a total newb to a moderately knowledgeable Tige owner!

No worries at all, That's what we are all here for is to help each other! I do believe there is a time to power turn and the only time is to protect your rider, If another boat is right behind you and doesnt seem to care or notice your rider fall i will haul A** and put my boat between them and the rider bc if they cant see my bright green boat they shouldnt be alive.
