Those guys are great to work with. Glad to see that board go to someone on TO! They are local for me so I've toured their shop. Awesome to see start to finish and they are building some awesome stuff.

Can those boards be stored in the surf bimini or racks without damaging them?

I only store my boards in the surf Bimini or bags. The racks with the bungees are no good.
I had the board in the surf Bimini for a few hours Saturday with no issues.

So, how do I know what board is for me when looking at the Doomswell boards? I'm 6' 225lbs. I ride a hyperlite 5'6" broadcast today and have been working on my 360's and trying to figure out how to ollie/air out. I get around every time on my 360's i'm just working on staying in without getting pushed out. My wave is almost hip high.

JLG- it's not preferred, but then again, I'm in Tx and it gets blazing hot. I snagged a Rareform bag from the Doomswell crew for extra protection and stash it in the bow.

BCRider- Brock is great at knowing what will work for you. Talk to him about your riding style, goals, etc and he will steer you in the right direction. He has a Neo that's 4'8", a Big Step, or if you wanted a cruiser like your broadcast, he makes an El Jefe. Let him know I sent ya. Post a pic if you get one!!

BLucas thanks for the heads up on heat as we hit over 100 her also. I've heard it causes issues with boards but have been lucky with mine, but then again I put the 2 that we don't ride often up top.

Just had a conversation with brock today at doomswell and it was terrific! These guys are hands on and knowledgeable about your needs with their product. We have been riding all of their models this week as performance marine loz is a dealer for them now and we love what doomswell has to offer. Great boards! We are doing an off the shelf Neo for now and will do a custom later as doomwell is extremely busy with custom orders. These boards are priced right and are terrific!

@BC as BLucas said The larger Neo would be a great board for you, as a worker at performance is around your size, and rode that board behind my Z3 and dominated it! He was able to do almost any trick, assuming you are on the same skill level!

what was the best board. I am considering a doomswell in the off the season for next year and pretty sure I want to go doomswell, just not sure what model. Neo,Drone, or nubstep.

Can anyone comment on the real weight limit and range for the 5.0 Big Step. I can't find any numbers on it anywhere.

We like all 3 models to be honest and they are very similar in ride. Brock at doomswell explained the differences to me and I will probably screw it up, but basically the drone and neo are the same shape just one has a longer back section from the rear to the fins. This makes them handle a little bit different. The nubstep is a more squared front end which makes it easier for beginner to intermediate rider to not bury the nose on and it still has the speed of the other 2. We like smaller skim type boards so went with the neo in the shorter length. We also like the neo with just the 2 large fins in front and no rear small fins in. The smaller ones will lock it in a bit more while learning at first but after a few pulls you will want them out!

I've rode many board brands and the only thing that comes close to the light fast feeling of this board is a phase 5. I didn't want a phase 5 as they aren't as custom as the doomswell and i like the customer service you get at doomswell, along with a few other minor things.

Never hurts to call Brock or the guys at doomswell as they can point you in more of a right direction than I can. We are beginner to intermediate surfers BTW if that helps. My wife is much better than me and handles the neo great along with it being a great choice for me.

thanks, yeah I feel I would like the 2 larger fins up front only, I want to spin, right now when I try geting air on the ronix koal power tail ( is stress try), I find sometime when I land on the face of the wave the fins aren't large enough to bite in the wave and board just slips out, also on some bottom turns I can feel the same feeling, reasons I think of going custom next board.

Dukes, you could always try some longer fins. I'm not huge on my fin game but doesn't that have FCS Fin boxes? You could try running some 4" and see if that helps. I'm only just starting to learn about fins and how much they can make a difference but may be worth a try.
