The MOST Efficient Wakesurf Machine: Documented

Is it possible it can get better than this? I thought 4.5 on the last Z3 was amazing. How is 3.5 GPH even REMOTELY possible with 4500+ lbs of water and people? I have no clue, but somehow the Indmar 400 and that convex hull does it.

In case you are skeptical, here is the fuel log: http://bit.ly/z3-gas

I even have pictures of all the receipts. I am sure someone is going to challenge me and I am ready, cuz it seems unbelievable to me also.

Great video as always! I am not skeptical at all as I've figured my 15 Z3 raptor 400 to get around 4 gph also with mixed play. Nice to know you can go for hours on end without fueling and have plenty of power also!

Have you posted somewhere and I missed your final ballast setup for your Z3? If not posted can you clue us in to what your running and how to purchase the bags needed?

I have prototype bags in there that replaced the SurfXL bags and 2 prototype crossover pumps. I have no idea when the pumps will be available, but they rock, much faster than previous reversible pumps.

The bags are slightly bigger but have some other things about them that make them much better than what you can get from FlyHigh. I am working on making them available, but haven't been able to yet.

Our boat is basically the SurfXL with just a bit more weight, not much at all, but that few hundred pounds makes a huge difference.

Great news let us know when you do. Yes my current setup takes around 9 min per side to fill which could use a lot of improvement. Seems like the rear bags could be larger in the locker itself or fill to top and that extra 100-200 lbs would be great. If we have a person or two in the rear surf corner the wave is plenty big with enough pocket for us as we are nowhere near advanced to need more.

Great vid. I'll be interested to see if figures jump when your here for Shredfest. Basically interested to see if the 440 is needed to maintain the numbers. The new boat looks like a surf monster, very cool.

There is no shredfest this year, but yes it will go up. If you look at our fuel log:

            http://bit.ly/z3-gas

You will see that there is one entry where we got about 7GPH, it was at 2300 elevation, but we were also testing the boat at higher RPMs, seeing where 3500 rpm with this prop puts you, etc. So I think it will go up, but I don't know how much.

Yes, it is a surf machine. And both RJ and I scratch our heads about how much better this wake is then the previous. We didn't realize how much compromise we had to make to always have the VX at one angle. By being able to adjust, you ALWAYS get the best hull for the conditions, and it makes a huge difference.

We will be in San Angelo TX in July in shallow water conditions, and I can't wait to see how it adapts to the shallow water. I think that is going to be a huge test for the AVX, and my gut says its going to shine.
