    Unhappy with my Boat

My boat is just over 1 year old and back in the shop again. Hope you guys have better luck with yours. Mine has been back and forth to the dealer for a year with issue after issue. I'm about ready to sink this thing.

My boat must be the opposite. 150 hours now and only preventive maintenance at beginning and end of season has ever been done to mine. One year it took on some water but didn't get it fixed until end of season. Tige had issued a recall for it. This is also my 3rd tige and have never had any transmission issues. What are they saying happened to it?

Sorry to hear that man, your boat has the indmar motor in it right?

A couple small issues dealt with very promptly by my dealer. 50ish hours and have't missed a boating weekend yet! Hope you get a break @gibbs114, sounds like run of bad luck!

          Could it be the dealer?

Yes I have the Indmar m57 and yes a lot of the problem was my previous dealer. I have taken the boat elsewhere this time.

They haven't told me for sure what is wrong with it. They said more than likely its gonna need a new transmission and it would be a while before they got the parts to fix it.

Mine has been a nothing but trouble since the day I bought it . Luck it's still in warranty. Don't know what I am going to do next year when it runs out.

I thought when you paid this much money for a new boat it would have less problems. I am in the 3rd year of my boat, and warranty is gonna run out the end of the summer. Yes June is almost over, and I still dont have a boat. I have 100hrs on my boat and the dealer has put over 30 of those hours fixing stuff. I contacted Tige about my concerns, and all they did was brush me off to the dealer. At this point the way I have been treated this will be the last Tige I buy.

What issues are you guys having? Maybe we can help out?

I have almost 300 hours on mine with the 6.0L pcm and I have yet to miss a weekend because of reliability issues. Boat always starts and runs. Had 800 hours on my MP 6.0L in my 24V and never missed a weekend. Yes I had issues but was easily fixed during week and were always pretty minor and boat could still be used. Worst I had was some teeth in the Vdrive broke on the 24V. Happened on a sunday, got pulled apart on Monday and Walter V-drive sent me one by Friday, installed and on water Friday night.

My dealer and Tige have always stood behind me and provided good service. It is the dealers responsibility to take care of the customer and not Tige as they are supposed to back the dealer. Far to many customers to deal with when you only have two guys at the desk at corporate to make everyone happy. Things will fall through the cracks. So have to stay on the dealer to get things done. They have a fair amount of pull.

We have nothing but good times with ours. Over 400 hrs on pcm 343 and no issues just regular maintenance. Dealer has been exceptional so far.

I can try to give cliff notes version. The problems started off minor. Bad batteries, then the ballast were hooked up incorrectly, and needed a software update. The next summer was ballast issue again and automatic bilge not working. This winter i had some upgrades done, and when they serviced the boat for this summer i took boat out 3 miles from launching boat transmission went out. I received the boat back 3 weeks ago, and that transmission went out. Still waiting!!

I would have to say it seems the quality control department needs to step up a little bit . Can't be sending a boat out with ballast hooked up incorrectly. My buddy has a 14 rz2 and he has had nothing but bad luck so far as well. His gel coat keeps cracking left and right on outside of boat, amongst other issues as well. They keep fixing gel coat but it cracks again going down highway right after. I'm really happy I haven't had any issues but definitely feel sorry for those of you that do.

I had gel coat cracks first season after not may hours and they did nothing for me. Told me I must have hit something and they wouldn't cover it. They were just above the rub rail and I know I never hit anything as I am the only driver and the thing has never even been at a dock. Also there were no signs of impact or anything to even suggest that it was hit. I haven't fixed them because I figure they will just come back after spending a bunch of money to fix them, kind of like what is happening to your buddies boat ChrisBarnes. Must be some kind of structural issue that allows the boat to twist or flex too much and cracks the gel coat. Especially if it is happening while trailering down the highway right after being fixed. Going into summer number 4 with the boat and haven't had any issues with engine or tranny though which is great. I know my dealer was working hard to try and get things rectified with my gel cracks and for Tige to cover it but Tige wouldn't budge. I saw the emails back and forth from him and Tige.
I understand what you are saying Loudelectronics about the dealer taking care of the customers and not Tige. However if Tige is there to back up their dealers then who does a customer call when the dealer isn't taking care of the problem? Should be the next in line after the dealer which is Tige as far as I am concerned. Love my boat but the way my gel coat issues were handled by Tige will lead me to buy from a different manufacturer when the time comes. I know other manufacturers have the same issues but I have to at least try them out and see how they handle problems. I know what I get from Tige and to buy from them again would be accepting how my issues were handled, and probably be handled the same way with another new boat. You know how the old saying goes, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."
