I think if you are enjoyable to be around and have a pocketful of twenties, you could fly, rent a car and just ride on everyone else's boats. I have done that a couple of years and not having the stress of caring for my boat was actually pretty awesome. It also made it easier to meet more people and try out a few different waves. Vegas airfares could even save you money over driving.
I had the stress of making sure that I got my butt out of bed when someone else was going, but not much of a big deal.
you are welcome to hop in with us Chris, I am sure I will have room in fact will probably need at least one more for a 3rd. Everyone here has let me hop in there boats the last few years and its finally my turn to return and extend my favors to everyone else.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
Update - Here is a list of the remaining rooms available at Temple Bar Marina;
1 Desert View Room (Includes 2 Double Beds)
2 Single Rooms (Includes 1 Double Bed and 1 Full Down Sofa)
4 Fisherman Cabins (Includes 1 Bed, 1 Rollaway... but no TV, and no attached bathroom - its a short walk away)
Motel Telephone # is: (928) 767-3211, Ext 10
If you havent booked your room yet, you may want to get on it ASAP - Were hoping to have quite a few people there this year.
One side note - coworker was there just 2 weeks ago, he stated he had no issues launching his Bayliner.
And one less Desert View....just booked one for Chase from Tige! If someone wants/needs a single, we may be able to switch, but still unsure if we will have an overnight pro rider so I booked the double.
Update - Things are moving along nicely behind the scenes, although I am sure it would move even better if we had a local dealer participating... oh well, a topic for another day. We have a few sponsors who have already committed (thanks to Jean from Tige), and were hoping for a few more along the way. If you know anyone who might be interested in supporting the event, please send me their information and I will be happy to reach out to them (davidwpowell2@verizon.net).
The only area I need help with at this time are the shirts. Anyone want to lead that effort? Talltigeguy?
I don't mind having them printed locally and I'm sure the wife will help with design. Getting the color, style and quantities is another story! Bueller?
