Dialing in a Tige RZ Wake

Any Tige RZ riders out there!?

I've been riding behind my family's 2010 Tige RZ4 for some time now and really haven't been able to fully dial in the wake....

    What I've observed:

    Fully weighted with the stock ballast ( 2 x 500 Front & 2 x 600 Rear = 2200 lbs) and taps around 5-6 the wake seems a little lippy at 75 ft back @ 24 mph.

Sometimes I'll take out a little weight or ride faster.

If you ride or have ridden a tige RZ4 or tige RZ series for that matter, let me know what your secret is for dialing in the wake!

I have two 400 lb sacks and a 250 lb sack I could use also.

    Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I have had success with not filling the rear bags all the way. Try running them at 75% or 50% and keep the front bags full, That will help with lengthening the wake out back as well as giving it a crisper lip. These boats are heavier in the rear so having more bow weight will help out tremendously. I will also depending on how many people we have in the boat add a bow bag, the bag we use is a 650 but your 400 bag will work. With adding bow weight it will allow you to mess with the taps plates more and prevent the boat from porpoising if you run the taps plate up to 8 at that speed. That's where I would start, and if you feel like you are not getting the wake size you want slowing start adding more weight to the rear bags. Also be mindful of the big rollers with the extra bow weight being added to the boat. Good luck!!

That is pretty much our setup. We just achieve it differently. We usually go 50% in back and 75% in front because we usually only have 4 people when we ride. But we have 240lbs of lead in 40 pounds bags distributed back, mid, and front to add more weight. and carry another 240 that we move around as needed based on who is riding and weight ext.... http://www.pop-products.com/our-products.html

I would fill all bags 100% then fill a 400 in the center of the bow. Fill the other 400 and put it in the walkway from the drivers seat into the walkway 1/2 and 1/2. Then center the 250 on the rear seat. With a 80 ' rope I would set the speed at 23.5 mph and Taps at 3. Taps could go up to 4 but over 4 usually makes the wake too steep and makes it roll over easily.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Thank You!! I will definitely try throwing more weight up front and playing around with the taps more! I'm stoked to ride again and try this setup out.

This sounds like a prime setup when I'm looking to get booted to the heavens. I am definitely going to try and see what beastly wakes I can come up with maxing out front and mid-ship weight. Thanks for the advice! I will post pics of the wake when I go out next

I ride behind a 2011 RZ4. I run 75-80' line at 24-25 MPH 100% full ballast and 2 taps. With a full fuel tank and 100% full factory ballast (PRO) I find you can't have more than a driver and spotter in the boat. If I have more people in the boat I will drain accordingly.

The RZ4 is easy to over weight. If you have too much weight the wake will wash out period. If you wake isn't clean then either speed up or drain. I also find that the boat lists super easily so your passengers need to be on point with keeping the boat level too.

                  Cheers,
