I have a 2000 2300V Limited with the Black Scorpion motor. Today was the third time we have been out this season. Usually the boat will start fairly quick, just a crank or two and she fires up. I noticed today when I first started it when it was cold, it took a few extra cranks. We puttered out at a slow speed since we just got the FAE installed and it calls for low speeds at first. Probably ran about 5, 10 mins tops and shut it down and floated for awhile. Started back up fine and we ran back to the dock at around 15 mph to meet some friends. The line at the dock we horrendous so we had to sit and idle for about 20 mins waiting. Finally got in and there was some issues with their boat so we shut down to help. After about 10 mins or so we were ready to go. Went to start it up and it just cranked and cranked and cranked. Tried to sputter a couple of times bit wouldn't start. Could start to smell gas when it finally caught and sputtered to life.
Temp was fine, never got hot. Once it started it ran fine, no issues there. Put a new fuel/water separator filter on it at the beginning of the season. Didn't get check the plugs after we got in so not sure how they look. This is only our third season with the boat and never had starting issues with it.
Not really sure where to start to diagnose.
On a side note, the FAE sure was nice! Can't believe how much more quiet the boat is.
