Last year when i bought my boat one of the first things i did was change my steering cable. Made a huge difference and it worked great all last summer. Had my boat out for the first time this weekend. I noticed the steering didnt feel as good as last year but i was hoping it would smooth out after a few hours on the water. Yesterday when my uncle was driving and i was surfing, the steering all of a sudden went really hard and feels like its binding. Checked it out tonight and ya, the cable is shot. Not sure what i did wrong that it only lasted a year, but only thing i can think of is that i must have routed it badly and i had too much of a tight kink in it?
Any thoughts on this? I really would hate to make the same mistake again.
