2007!rz2! Best surf setup cannot get clean wave

How are you setting up ballistic on w a 2007 rz2 cannot get a clean wave on either side. We have tones of sacks just want to know where to put them. This is for a buddy's boat. Ant info would be appritated

The best wave on our 08 RZ2 was with 1,000 to 1,100 pounds on the surf side. Maybe 200 pounds in the bow, more bow weight longer wave just did not have the height of no bow weight. The RZ2 loved to be listed. I did not put a lot of opposite side weight.

The RZ2 can throw a great surf wave. Good Luck!

Mine is a 2009 with the AlphaZ tower and 1100 bags over the factory hard tanks, plus the factory Ushaped bow sack. I fill the surf side rear corner and the entire now sack. It's theoretically 400lbs but there isn't enough room under the seats for it to get full. I'm usually running around a taps 2-5 and speed of 11.2-12 mph depending on how much fuel and people weight is on the boat.

To find the sweet spot on this boat I would load the surf corner with max weight, the set taps at 3 and start out at 10.5 mph. Slowly accelerate until the wave cleans up, that's a starting point to dial in the rest of the wave. If you want a bigger wave, raise taps to 4-5, increase the weight in the boat or slow down a little. Longer pocket? Try more bow weight or less taps or more speed. It's a balancing act to get the biggest wave, with a clean face and long pocket.

My '07 likes the surf side rub rail at the water line and then 200-300 lbs on the non-surf side, 11.2, Taps between 3-4. When I run bow weight, it doesn't seem to do anything except for collapse the height and take away the push.

I find it doesn't take much at all to get a useable and pretty clean wave. I fill my bow sac all the way and then whichever side were surfing gets the rear bag as full as I can get it. Sometimes I'll add some offside weight or fill an extra bag on the seat if I'm in the mood to screw around a bit. 11.0-11.4 mph, Taps at 4.

If it's an 07 that the wave won't clean up, I'll bet your still using the huge factory swim platform. It digs into the wake and will make a mess of it. When I made my own smaller one it really cleaned things up.

Agreed re RZ2 hull. Fill surf side rear and bow until your rub rail touches. If you have enough people, add some off side rear weight (so long as the rub rail stays near water). I have a pair of 400 in the bow (fill about 300). Bow surf side weight can help increase lean (gets rub rail down closer to water) and lengthen pocket.

A surf flap will clean up the wave and reduce turbulence off the lip of your platform. But it does not fix the fact that the 2007 platform is big.

Ahhh yes, I always forget about the big old swim platform's that came with these boats. That corner digs in and makes the face of the wave look bad but it usually still rides good.
