I'm wondering if I took my criticisms directly to the designer of the boat.
Chris is the designer of the boat. I talked to him at length about the boat. He came up with the concept 3 years ago but was not until now that Tige wanted to move on it. He was very suprised at all of the interior changes that Tige made (he didn't think they would have made as many). When I went to go see the boat for the first time in person Chirs was there and he looked very excited and happy with the final product. I believe there are listening to many things people are saying about the boat and are looking to make some modification to the final production boat.

dgutz and the entire R&D team had also helped design this boat as well.

        LovinPowell,,

I did recall Chris stating he had a roll in the RZ2 design during the dinner, I cannot recall the exact quote though.

Regarding the tie down hooks, I switched and started using the swim step bracket that way it never touch's any gel. I beleive I got the idea from a thread on this site.

I would not favor the hooks being relocated below as I think thye would not be as functional. I would not favor two sets either as below the swimsteps would seem not to work as well towing, mooring and such. I think two sets would take away from the look of the boat,,,it would start looking like a tow truck.

So that would explain why he got so defensive when I asked about the tow rings being below the swim deck.

Chris, there was no offense intended, the boat looks really nice. I hope that you didn't take offense to my questions.

An additional point on the RZ2, I watched it in action both towing during both the wakeboard and sky ski exhibitions as well as cruising up and down the river and it appeared to me that it rides high in the water. It seemed like a third or nearly half of the hull is out of the water during normal pulling speeds somewhat resembling a euro runabout type hull/boat. It may be that this was a desired design characteristic as to keep the water out of the front. I have a 1999 2200i known for the water-over-the-bow syndrome.

RZ2 looks good both moored and pulling. The folks up front in the bow appeared quite comfy in the roomy nose. Chris continually suggested during the reunion dinner that the 2007 RZ2 wuld be a great selection for the reunion dinner winner. I wish it was me.....

                    RZ2 add in wakeboarding mag

Did anyone see the add in Sept wakeboarding magazine for the RZ2? I find it interesting that it does not show a pic of the new bow, only a shot from the side, and simply states "transom activity center". Interesting marketing angle. If I wasn't addicted to reading these message boards I would not have picked up on the pickle fork bow.

Still think it is a great concept and would consider one in a few years when upgrading my 04' 22 V Riders Edition.

I got to see the RZ2 that was out at the owners regatta at Parker at Tige Water Sports in Corona yesterday. The detailers were polishing it up for pick up by the new owner. I liked it... It was a very sharp looking boat and in general, it seems like Tige with the help of Chris and his ideas from Corona has really done well with the new design.

Some random observations from a very brief look... The vinyl on the seats feels like soft glove leather. Very nice feel and look. I was wondering how it will hold up over the long term...but the initial effect is very nice.

The overall bling factor of the boat is great. it looks cool sitting there on the trailer and the pickle fork is nicely done. not outlandish and in your face...but stylish and functional.

The nav lights on the sides of the bow area are a little funky...they seemed to me to be hanging there off the side as opposed to some of the cool flush mount led's or something along that line...

The dash, for the brief time I saw it was very slick looking. The display screen is taking advantage of many of the offerings that the GM computer offers and puts it there for the driver to easily see.

The bow seating area, while wide and spacious, will be nicer (in my humble opinion) when the 24 footer comes out and there is a little more leg room up there. It looked like somebody at 6 feet or more wouldn't quite be able to stretch out fully up there.

All that being said...it's one nice looking boat. Great job Chris and Great job Tige! I would say the overall product line just got much stronger and diverse... wrangler

There will be a 24 ft rz for 07. The v's have been cut outta the lineup. 22 and 24 rz's , and the same i's and ve's as 06 will be the 07 line. I can't wait to ride behind this thing, from what i hear this rz blows the 22ve outta the water.

Does anyone know if SpeedSet hold the speed on this thing when weighted or just in general? or Should I just get it without SpeedSet and get perfect pass.

Perfect Pass in not a factory option for 2007.

                              to re-itterate one more time...

the 07 Speed Set is AWESOME. much easier to use.

                              WELL worth the option.

I know that perfect pass is not a factory option, ut I could order the boat without SpeedSet and add perfect pass for about the same price.

While Accuset may be easier to use this does not answer my question of does it hold speed, both weighted and unweighted, of which it does not do on the 06 models. For example, my Accuset will not even hold speed when I have the ballast full. Even with no weight when turning corners and such it takes a lot time for the boat to get back up to speed and getting up to speed from start is a pain in the a$$.
