Work? What the hell is that? Oh ya now I remember...... I don't work in the Summers. The life of a teacher is a hard one working all 185 days of the year.

Nah, just imagine having to explain to your kids why you dress up like that while driving your $50+K wakeboard machine. I showed the picture to my boys and they said "...who's that dork?"

There there now Nickypoo, it's gonna be OK.

Lucky- Problems are for sloving. Seriously though, Don't tell me they can't engineer around a couple of cut outs. There's already two holes in the gunwhale. Know what I'm saying? From this side of the fence it seems like someone's family has been wronged by cupholders in the sides of the boat. I gotta say, that is one of my favorite features on Boo's. They are huge, out of they, can't be kicked and are utilizing dead space. Win, win, win, win. What gives Tige?

Or, if you're going to insist on taking that space off limits, why let that space go to waste? On my fishing boat, the double-wall hull construction is filled with foam so it's unsinkable. Why not use that space for ballast in addition to the under-the-floor ballast?

                  quick note...

the holes in the seat backs are used not only for installation and assembly but also for the application of fiberglass once the deck and hull are mated. tige is the only company in the industry that does this and is a huge factor in why everyone is so proud of their super tough tige. It makes the boat one solid body rather than two parts simply put together by screws and backer plates and then sent out to lake powell on labor day weekend.

You know, that would be such an awesome place for ballast in theory. I would think it would be more effective as you would be putting all that weight in such a norrow footprint and it would act as a cantalever, if you will, being all the way on the outer extremity of the hull. Next time your out surfing, put everybody on the seats on one side, get up to speed, get a good read on the wakes and then set their butts up on top of the gunwhale. Watch how much more the wake grows.

                    Back on planet reality-
That is a lot of stress on that part of the hull, especially the sides. I know it's a Tige and all but I would think you would need some pretty good R&D before you start throwing tanks in there. Then again, maybe not.

now that Dgutz is back online how much ballast is avail in the rear? front? Tanks or sacks? Man, I want more pics.

I haven't been this excited about something in a long time. The 1st night I saw the pics, I couldn't sleep. I just lay in bed thinking how cool that boat looked.

One of the reasons I'm a Tige guy right there. Superior lay up. It's my favorite feature. While shopping around, I would feel up underneath anywhere I could in every boat. The result were a little disturbing. Tiges were dope. Super thick and strong. No loose fiberglass dangling around, nice and clean and finished. Well at least finished better than anybody else. By far. You wouldn't believe how thin and frail some of these boats are.

I would still like to give the question a bump. Why no cut outs in in the seats?

It would also upset the center of gravity on the boat. Maybe not that much, but I bet it would be noticiable in the turns.

I wish I would have ordered my boat with ballast, at least the front.

*Edit...I'm talking about ballast for all you reading long*

500lbs in back - 250 on each side. hard tanks redesigned to tuck into the back most point of the boat unders the transom seat. designed to maximize storage space.

~350 in front - soft bag plus about and extra 50lbs in hardwear.

this system available on Ve's and RZ's
