That floor is Penske, with a big aluminum / metal rectangle in the middle, covering the gas tank. Not sure how snap out carpet would work on that.
I don't know if it's the rubber backing or what, but my snap out carpet in the walk thru smells horrible. I've power washed it, scrubbed it, used simple green, and it still stinks. How do you get that smell out?

Thanks, snap out has been sitting out in the sun for about a week. I hope that killed it.
Any idea why it's the only part that stinks, the rest of the carpet is fine, and that is what get the wettest. Hell, my storage lockers are soaked from wet lifejackets, ropes etc, and they dry out just fine in my garage....
FYI, I'm starting a new project with a 2 bank battery charger and strategically placed inline blowers (in the gunwales and storage compartments) to really dry everything out. Let me know if you all want me to post pics.

That is one seriously cool looking boat!
Put a single pole swim ladder in the middle of the "fork" in the bow (they make steps that have one main "pole" with steps on either side that fold up for stowage), and build it in a 24 footer and I'm SOLD!!
I like the tower mounting. It's obvious to me that the further the mounting points are from each other fron to back, the more stable the tower should be. This should be a very stable tower.
I like the lifting rings placed so you can actually use transom tie downs. About time!
Mesh seats should be GREAT if they are comfortable. For fall/spring use, vinyl velcro-attached cover to reduce cold air would be great.
Hinged cooler behind driver. THANK YOU!!! Are any other storage areas hinged? I really dislike the wedge fit idea.
Bottom line: THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!
I was seriously considering a Malibu because of some of the above issues, but I may have to check out the new Tige` instead.
One VERY IMPORTANT item that is missing: PLEASE place the speakers, cupholders and some grab handles in the seat back area somewhere. That is one thing about "brand M" that I absolutely LOVE! They even have 12v receptacles so everyone can charge their stupid cell phones. I hate cell phones, but they are a fact of life.

I think the reason the snap out stinks is the foam backer. It kind of becomes a sponge, soaking up the water. The interior carpet is glued down and has no foam backer. The water has nothing to soak into since marine carpet itself is nonabsorbent. At least, that's my theory. I pull mine out every time and lay it across the trailer under the bow of the boat. This lets air get to the underside as well.Last edited by NICKYPOO; 07-14-2006, 03:02 PM.You'll get your chance, smart guy.
