How about with 2000lbs of ballast?

I'm pretty sure all companies are using a similar version of the Speed Set on the newer boats. Isn't this a function of the ECM? Eveyone came out with their version of Throttle by Wire and Speed Set @ the same time. The reason I ask is I know people have had issues with the speed control holding with alot of ballast.

High Roller- the hull is the same as the 22vé below the waterline, so the wake will be the same, assuming its weighted the same way. Not sure what you mean by the vé being blown out of the water. Also, the vé is still available for '07, but the 22v has been cut out. Not sure about the 24v and 20v.

jpretti- yes it will hold speed when weighted, however you wont be able to vary your speed through a double up, unless you play with the set speed. Its actually more consistent, due to the digital nature of throttle by wire.

One more thing- you cant use perfect pass with a throttle by wire system... at least not yet.

Who's been in the boat with ballast? If so, how much?

Can you get any new models with the old school throttle? I personally like it better.

new school is better- less adjustments, since its all sensors and servos.

Also, weight is irrelevant (unless you just dont have enough power!). It takes a sampling off the paddle wheel and relays that to the integrated throttle servo.

Weight is definately relevant, I've been in one with a 8.1 so it definately wasn't underpowered.

I've driven both and I like the feel of the old school better. There is no resistance/feedback with the throttle by wire.

the sample rate may need to be adjusted, but I had to do that with my perfect pass as well.

While Accuset may be easier to use this does not answer my question of does it hold speed, both weighted and unweighted, of which it does not do on the 06 models. For example, my Accuset will not even hold speed when I have the ballast full. Even with no weight when turning corners and such it takes a lot time for the boat to get back up to speed and getting up to speed from start is a pain in the a$$.
our 06 Ve holds speed fine...

the 07 Held speed as well... weight and unweighted.

I have an 06 with throttle by wire and had perfect pass installed.

'06s with PP did not come with throttle by wire. This was an option for '06. Both PP and my tige dealer advised me of this, when I was considering an '06 22ve.

Now I see what you are saying. I remember my dealer telling me that. We decided to add PP in June after using our boat for a while. PP does now have a unit designed for throttle by wire. That is what I have in my boat.
