Has anyone tried to alter the bimini on a 24V? I would like to add surf pockets on top, but the factory bimini has a high center so there isn't enough surface area for a board to lay flat. I was wondering if anyone has tried to change the support poles to make a flatter bimini? I realize it won't be as high in the middle but there is enough height in the front and back. I imagine I would need to have an upholstery shop make a new top.

2 thoughts to consider: Could you put them in from the front of the bimini? I did that on my previous boat. And why not use straps instead of full pockets? You could pretty easily figure a way to keep them solidly in place with straps, with a little thoughtfulness. You could have the straps made with bungee material if need be.
You could do something like I did, even turn the surfboards over so that the fins are off the end of the bimini if you felt you had to have them rightside up:
Be excellent to one another.
