WakeMakers wave control

Anybody heard anything specific about WakeMaker's wave control?

There is a post on planet nautique about it from a couple weeks ago. It seems to work similar to MC's Gen 2 surf tabs system. $4000 is quite a bit of money but a lot less than trading up to a new boat to get a surf system. Seems to have some pretty cool features:

• less need to list boat, if at all
• a floatable remote that allows rider to control side-to-side transfers
• a launch mode which I guess auto adjusts the tabs to launch more efficiently

I have only seen video and read about it from the guy who originally made the Go Surf Assist. I plan to wait out this season until the reviews come in and bugs get worked out. If it works as billed then it seems like something to consider...like you say, cheaper than a boat upgrade.

There is a post on the forum where a member posted a picture of the go surf assist installed on a 22VE. On our Tige hulls the tabs have to be mounted a few inches inward on the hull from where they are originally installed on most hulls. The wave looked fine to me with the different tab position but that's the only Tige I've seen them on.

this may translate into a bow high attitude. I know the wives dont like a listed boat, but as the one that does 75% of the driving, i dont like a bow high attitude.

I would speculate that the system retracts the tab when the boat comes off plane and then redeploys at speed.

I would think they must be protected somehow? MB offers the tabs as a factory option on their boats now. Makes me think they must have firm ground to stand on.

I believe there is a significant royalty to be paid, and probably has something to do with the $4k cost. I believe nautique had a lock on the wakeboard tower many years ago and other boat manufacturers had to pay them a royalty then.

WE NEED SOME VIDS OF THIS ON THE TIGES, somewhere there is a 22ve but I cant seem to find it. I would love to see this for my boat. What I like in the look of this system over a gate is to me it seems it would list the boat as opposed to pushing (dog tracking the boat like a gate would) so possible to keep a good lip. Somebody do this so we can see what it does for our boats and what setup we need. haha

You would think it would be somewhat decent on a tige because of the taps 3 which is basically the same idea. image.jpegthe new taps 3 system doesn't seem that special of a design. Instead of spending 4K on a system could you not do a DIY and just get some standard trim tabs like this http://www.westmarine.com/buy/lenco-...x-12--10286730 Someone on here just needs to do some testing and find out what works.

those tabs on the Malibu look really long too. If you could get your hands on one of the new Tige plates as pictured above it would really be hard to replicate for a DIY. I guess the biggest issue is trying to bring it to market as that's where you get dinged from someone like Malibu. Wouldn't be that hard to take some cardboard to a local dealer and trace out the shape....At least I don't think mine would care.
