dock shock vs. wake watchers vs. mooring whips

Like the title says, what is everyone using to keep their boat from getting dock rash, I have a black hull so shows up scratches easy
Plus' of the dock shock is that it is not an eyesore and that they are portable can use elsewhere(even will getting fuel and ice cream at the marina), neg-costly
Plus' of the wake watchers is that they are the simplest to use, no other dock lines needed, neg-eyesore, can't find the weight requirement for our boats, costly, not portable
Plus' of the whips is that they work, they are rated for weight of our boats, neg- eyesore, costly, not portable, need extra dock lines as opposed to wakewatchers.

Plus chime in and give you opinions, especially if you have experience using any. Would really like info on the dock shock as I like that it is portable, just take off throw in boat and use it somewhere else.
    thanks

I use whips and personally think they work great, however I am considering switching to dock shocks due to their versatility and clean look.

dukesofhazzard: Whips aren't expensive when you know a guy. I have an older set from when we used to keep our boat up at Cultus.

I used whips on my Z1, the cleat on the whip hit the tower when I wasn't looking and scratched it...IMG_2668.jpg
