    Ragboy,
Twisted my wifes arm this last weekend and made her stay in the boat while we ran a bunch of different TAPS settings VX settings and speeds just looking at the wave. Once we did that and put her out there on it this is where we ended up on our Z1:

    Speed 11.4-11.6
    Taps 2
    VX 6
    List was 6-7 degrees

We started at 11 and started working our way up in speed with her on the wave, we hit 11.4 and everything changed, didn't see it at 11, or 11.2, but at 11.4 the back end sucked down, the wave got a lot harder with a much longer pocket than what we had been riding.

Yes, the magic speed is right about 11.4 for us. Any slower and the AVX is doing its best, IMHO. Once you get to that speed it just sets in and really starts to work. Sweet spot seems to be 11.4-11.8.

So funny, my daughter Jesse likes to put a knee down and slap the wave. We were doing 11.4 and she did it and it was SO loud and it stung her, bad.

I have been doing a lot more surfing myself also, and I don't know all the reasons why, but the wave with the AVX is JUST significantly better. It has more push and a better transition. It truly is a significant improvement.

One other thing my wife pointed out this morning was she really liked 11.4 when the water was flat, but when the water got choppy and the boat rolls in and out she liked 11.6 better because the wave was just a little harder and gave her more recovery margin with the boat rocking.

I found similar findings. I found that the wave had a bit more push in the back when i placed around 400 lbs of lead in the rear corner of the boat... anyone else find similar findings?

400 lbs of lead, with the surf XL bags?
