Just take my damn money, I have to have it
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

As I've noted before I work in the Unmanned Vehicle industry. I happened upon a high volume drone re-seller at a tradeshow one time and we got to talking about this little Lily. He mentioned that he tried extensively to get the rights to distribute it - even offering up free space in his booth at CES and the like. The Lily folks kept saying no. His conclusion was that it didn't exist - at least not yet. This original order request was actually a backdoor way to crowd source the R&D cash to build it.

I have no idea if this is accurate - just one guy's opinion. I sure hope it delivers on schedule, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I never did actually put any money down, as I felt the flight time was too low and I didn't like the terms. However for the rest of you that did buy in, I am looking forward to a positive conclusion and lots of cool vids!

Lily wins CES 2016 Innovation Award
        http://www.suasnews.com/2016/01/4110...-award-at-ces/

I ran across this interview at CES from TechCrunch.
"The startup pulled in a whopping $34 million in pre-orders by the end of 2015, with 60,000 units already sold".

I agree JohnnieMo, it is a little concerning that they didn't have one flying at CES and I hope there is positive outcome as well. According to this article they have securred $15 Million in private funding and won't touch the pre-order funds until they ship??

Thanks for the heads up on the FAA info. IDBoating. Too late for me, but will help inform the rest.

I ordered one way back in 2015. when the date came and went for when it was supposed to be delivered... I started to wonder. Then got an email about how it wont be ready for several more months. I canceled. took about a month to get my money refunded, but I got it.

Whatever they promised was not realistic from very beginning. That famous AD video was definitely staged.

I don't blame you at all for bailing out. It will be a whole year later than the original proposed shipment. I'm glad you were able to get your $ back!
I ordered mine back when the original price was offered (6/15). I'm still in and am hoping it will ship. I am a sucker for potential discount?

So if I can get 60000 people to give me $34 million to hold on to for a year in a very safe investment and walk away with 1.5 to 2 million in interest after giving them all their money back, is that wrong?

Funny you say this because that is what I was thinking.

IMO - That's the key part of your question. It's in the eye of the beholder, right? Some may look at it like Team Allen and say "I'm gonna get in when it's reasonable, I can wait for the R&D to finish", and others like CarFanatic might say "Don't promise me something you can't deliver when promised". I personally have NEVER been an early adopter - I'd rather wait (for anything) and see. Of course, by the time I adopt, it's time has come and passed. Anyone looking for a PS2 for sale? (KIDDING)

Not looking for a PS2, but cannot wait for the new version of the old Nintendo (NES) system that is coming out in November. 30 games including ExciteBike and MarioBros...Am I showing my age?

Well, it's not gonna happen. They are winding down the company and issuing refunds to customers.
Bummer! I was looking forward to it. I guess the others were correct and it was a bad choice to invest in.

Get the DJI Mavic Pro. It's awesome. Not waterproof but who cares.

Thanks, my son already has one and is selling his Phantoms.
                              It will have to do.

It tracks OK but tends to lose the subject with any quick movement across the screen. The good news is that this is still a very immature technology. In 5-7 yrs the tech will be awesome. That said, the Mavic is awesome. Portable, stable, great pics/vids and easy to fly.
