    Waterproof Drone.... hells yes!

I've mentioned before that I work in the drone / unmanned systems industry. Well this bad boy is the coolest thing I've seen. Waterproof quad for $500. Flies for 20 minutes and is designed to video whoever is holding the tracking device. Just watch the video.

From the looks of the video it does float at least for a second or two

Freaking awesome! If only my wake surfing was worthy of such a recording device!

Ya, I saw that fine print later. Pay now and *maybe* get it in Feb 2016. Who knows what else could hit the market by then. Sigh.... I had my credit card out and was ready to buy.

Seems like your ideas usually just cost me money! Good thing we are trending the other direction now

My stupid boat is still sitting in the garage. Damn life getting in the way. All this new ballast and the warmest spring in the history of Western Canada and my butt is on a plane to Singapore... sigh.

My son is interested in this model. I think he might pre-order one?
His concern is it only has a 20 min battery life, you can't change out the battery and it has a two hour charge time.

There are things I like alot about the Lily. But with the go-pro already I lean towards one that can utilize that.
However this thing is simple, cool, and waterproof!!

The Lily uses the same camera module as a GoPro, but I am curious how well the digital image stabilization will work vs using a gimbal. Anybody have any guesses? Also if you search on YouTube and watch some of the demonstration videos they did the prototype is pretty rough and they didn't show any video shot from the drone during those demonstrations. Awesome idea and still debating preordering one but I am wondering if I will be a beta tester when it comes out. Just an FYI the site says you can cancel and have your order refunded up until it ships.

I would agree that since I'm already $400 in to a GoPro, it doesn't make sense to buy a new camera. Makes more sense to buy a drone and attach the camera I have.

A gimbal will always be better, but with high enough resolution, you can work some magic using software to fix the picture afterwards. Someone has to be the guinea pig ultimately.
