    Height of Z3 with tower

    Hey guys,

I am not near my boat right now and was wondering if any of you guys have measured the clearance of the tower. I am thinking of building a garage to house the boat without folding down the tower.

    Thanks

my 15 Z3 sitting on a boatmate trailer with 18z measures 9'6" to top of tower. Don't forget to add height for the garage door opener.

You are most likely going to need a 10ft door or more to be safe, the 2015 Z3 we have in our shop is roughly 9 feet 6 inches (115.2 inches) on the 18" wheels it comes on.

My RZ2 barley fits under a 10' tall door. For the Z3 I'd go at lease 10'6" to be safe.

Thanks so much guys! I am going to go with a 10' or 10'6 door if available.

As a side note, my boat fits inside of an 82" door with the tower down. But you needed to push the tower down to squeeze it in.

Just be safe and go for 12' door... Then you never worry about anything

i'm building a shop as we speak and i think it would fit in a 10' door but it will be close. i decided to got 12 high and wide for an easy fit.

My local building code dictates I can only build up to a 14.5' mid peak roof. So if i build 12' walls I will be pushing the roof line code. I don't think I will be able to get a 12' door in there.

Buddy had an 04 22v riders... Different boat I know, and he had the board racks on the top of the tower and it wouldn't fit under 10' door. Had to fold it. It would have made it if not for the rack on the top cross members.

I'm also building a new garage & working within local code. What I have done to still maintain a decent slope is 9" walls w cathedral ceiling and a 10' door.

This^^^^... I'm picturing 10' side walls with gable ends and a 12' door... Could even hip the back side if you want it to look fancier.. You wont have twelve foot ceilings at the walls.. But you'll have enough in the middle for a boat with tower and no worries...
