Auto Bilge Pump - 2012 RZR

Hey there, proud new Tige owner here! My auto bilge pump doesn't seem to be working on my boat, and we tried to trace the wiring back for the brown wire that should connect directly to the battery I believe on the starboard side of the boat.

Am I missing something? Any pictures and/or guidance would be appreciated!

    Does anyone kno

On a 2012, the brown auto bilge wire may be connected to the battery side of the switch. This would make electrically battery-direct, although not physically battery-direct. There should also be an inline fuse holder right off the source termination.

Does the pump work manually with the helm switch? With the transom plug in, fill the bilge with a hose and see of the pump activates once its got a couple inches of water around it.

Mine ripped out when I was moving the battery one time & I didn't notice. It could be there just not hooked up. Mine was very short & left no play to angle the battery when removing the terminal wires.

I disconnected my batteries the first winter I owned the boat. When I hooked them back up I accidentally ran the bilge turn on to - and not +. It was an easy fix.

The pumps are quite simple. Three wires.... On, auto and ground. The On runs up front to your medallion box. Try the manual switch and the TT. Even in during my mistake the switches would enable the pump, but the auto turn on didn't work.

so I finished hooking up all the battery stuff. brown wire to the pos on the crank battery. i noticed that everything comes on as it should, but when I hit the bilge switch in tt, I hear nothing. do I need to put some water in the bilge to ensure it's working? just want to make sure before I dunk it.

If running it manually from the helm is a different 12 volt supply then the brown auto wire that hooks battery direct. So if you dont hear the motor hum, filling the bilge is a simple way to test the motor. Beyond that, check the bilge breaker under the helm. Next, break out a volt meter and check for the ground on the black and 12v on the two browns when the bilge is activated via the helm and 12v on only one brown when the helm switch is off.

Just to make sure I follow this, is there a breaker under the helm that is for the TT bilge switch (on the screen), or is the breaker just for the manual override switch (one of the set of 4 or 5 manual switches next to the medallion panel)? If the breaker is just for the manual override switch, then what could be a cause for the TT bilge switch (on the screen) to not work (besides the fuse in the main fuse panel)?

Without a schematic or a boat in front of me, I cant answer that specifically, but I feel certain that the brown wire leading from the helm to the pump for its manual operation, will have some sort of circuit protection.

yes, mine has an in-line fuse on the brown wire coming from the black manual switch (the switch under the helm). But, I was trying to trace the brown wire coming off the medallion fuse panel to see if there was a redundant in-line fuse on that particular wire....couldn't find one, but it's a mess of wire under there. My question is regarding the TT screen switch/button for the bilge, and is there a likely culprit for this function not to work (other than the fuse in the medallion panel)?

If you hit the override and the motor runs, you know the pump and wiring to the pump is good, issue lies at the helm. Pull the medallion fuse box cover and see of there is a primary fuse.

I'll check this out for the battery-direct comment you made.

Yes, the pump works manually off the TT when I activate it to remove the water.

                      Appreciate the assistance!

Yep we checked all that out - just can't find the brown wire on the TT at all that is potentially a direct connect to the battery. It might be the RZR is different from the Z1 regarding wiring.I am going to double check things based on what chpthril said above. Thanks for your comments and help!

We did remove the battery again on the starboard side to see if we could find a disconnected wire - couldn't find anything.

As a fellow RZR owner, can you confirm if yours is connected to the starboard side battery, or the port side battery?

                          Thanks!

Did you check to see if bilge pump is locked up due to debris in the pump. This is a common problem with new boats as all the debris from the factory gets sucked into the pump the first time the pump cuts on.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Yes I did, the pump works fine from the TT manually. The problem seems to be with the auto bilge, so that is why I am trying to trouble shoot.
