    Table Rock Lake

I am looking to rent a house on Table Rock mid September for a week. I have found heaps of info on the internet but am looking for some real world info. I am looking for 4 bed, 2 bath minimum ideally with a dock.

Has anyone rented such a place or have any advice for Table Rock?

Might find this link helpful along with several other TRL searches on here about the lake. Couple members on that thread from the CO area perhaps you know and can ask for info or even a member on there from TRL.

VRBO.com and Homeaway.com are great sites and perhaps you have checked on them already? Good luck with your search

Depends on how busy of a lake you want as to where you wanna look.. If your looking for more traffic your gonna want to stick closer to kimberling city/Branson area... There will be all kinds of condos available there.. If your looking for a slower lake that you could surf and board in the middle of the channel all day, you're gonna wanna look at the shell knob to eagle rock to holiday island area... Here you will find more of the family owned small resort type of properties... Basically the farther west and south you go, even into Arkansas, the calmer and more secluded it's gonna get..

Look up VRBO #311458. Great place to stay, short walk or drive down to the boat slip. You probably won't have to worry about the lake being busy in September. It's pretty nice down there once school starts. You will be about half way between the bridge and Cambpells Point Marina.

Ya my bad... Didn't catch that mid September part in the first read... You should be pretty calm just about anywhere you pick... I'm pretty local... Just a few miles south of shell knob. If you need anything else just ask.

Danschmatz - Brian is spot on with staying east or west of kimberling city and crowds. I personally enjoy kimberling city and little biased (home town) area and often get calm water during the week in September in the main channel (if not windy). I like the kimberling city area cause it central to the areas I like to go which happen to be on either side of the lake. Some great places are Cow Creek (salom course if thats your gig), Spring Branch (wakeboarding/surfing), Shell Knob (for calm water on a windy day), The Swing (go here for lunch and kids love to swing), Cape Fair (calm water on windy days). There is a "Party Cove" in Cow Creek area but I have never gone as I always have my kids with me. Best of all about Kimberling City you can end your day pulling your boat up to Coyotes or The Rock for dinner & music.

I have some friends that visit a couple times a year and they enjoy staying at Kimberling Oaks Resort. They have four different homes/lodges with at least 4 bedrooms. There are many other Resorts & Condos options and getting a place shouldn't be difficult for September. Hope you enjoy your stay

sorry to tap in on your thread. we are visiting table rock the weekend after memorial. i have a conference at the chateau on the lake so we are staring there. any suggestions on places nearby? when i was a kid we would go to table rock every summer and there was a bluff with a rope swing. any idea if it's still there and if so how close to the dam?

              thanks!

Im thinking the bluff with swing your talking about is probly aunts creek... Haven't been by there in a few years because that's no longer consider the party spot... the current party cove is at cow creek and it's closer to the dam than aunts creek.. If ur wanting calmer water on that weekend the closest way to find it would be to turn south out of chateau and head down under the bridge past bass pro's new marina.. The lake gets a little narrower down that way and you'll get away from all the jet ski and pontoon rental fools out in the main channel... State park marina churns those people out like crazy. Head south and once you pass battleship point on your right and get under the bridge, it a noticeable difference in how much calmer the water will be. If you go immediately right past the bridge you'll find a slalom course back there on the left.. Across from bass pro marina youll see a smaller bluff and swing that usually has some people, but keep heading south towards Arkansas and it only gets better..the state line is just a couple bends away and you'll see the AR/MO sign on the bluff... Long straight there that I've spent a many a days boarding up and down.... Also, some small coves along sides to drop anchor and chill. Better still, once you cross into AR there is no water patrol and I can't begin to count the number of night surf sessions we've churned out there. In contrast to everything I've said, if you turn right out of chateau and head towards Indian point and kimberling city, your gonna be in some pretty busy water until your past kimberling/mill creek area... That is however the way to the party cove if that's what your interested in.. Head south down the long straight stretch and when the lake turns back west your see an old army corps park on the left... Still a ramp there but the park is long since closed. That's the old cow creek park. Cow creek (party cove) will be on the left

thanks bryan. tha'ts exactly what i needed. we will have the whole family so party cove isn't an option. we will head south and find good water. arkansas also doesn't have the crazy flag rule.
