    CONVEX VX vs AVX?

how much bigger of a deal would it be to have the AVX? is it that much more noticable or better? is it (AVX) one of those must haves?

I looking to upgrade my 2010 Z1 in the near future to a Z3, is the surflink + AVX going to be worth waiting another yr to get a used '15 Z3 w/ AVX or do I go '14 Z3 w/ Convex VX? Wife doesnt see the justification of a $90,000-$100,000 boat so I trying to steer my "desires" a little better :-) 80,000+/- is more reasonable in her comfort range.

So do I wait til next yr or do it this yr. looking for oppinions on those that have actually ridden and felt the difference

I have a vx on my rz2 and as cool as the avx is, I'm keeping my boat it has everything I want in it after a year of building and with my ballast and mods I havnt seen a better wake out on the lake yet. I'm staying with the vx....... For now lol
    surf till u die.

I had a 2014 z3 and just got the 2015 in the water, I will know more about the avx vx comparison when my son surfs behind it hopefully this weekend.

If my 2014 did not have a ongoing motor issue I would have kept it!
Only way to resolve the problem was to trade it in.

In addition to the avx is a better motor package from Indmar ( because this one runs good so far) and the Tige touch2 is better imo

anybody esle have opinnions on this? the AVX just sounds SO FREAKIN AWESOME but is it that much better? could I set up the VX to an angle that will work for my style and make everyone else suffer :-) or do they come prelocked into a position?

We are getting a very noticeably better wake wth the 2015
Both the 2014 and 2015 have the same ballast weight or very close, new boat seems to list over better on the goofy side. last year getting a good goofy side wake on our shallow lake was very difficult and no where near what the 2015 will do
            Suprising the only difference is
AVX, taps plate, and the real low pitch propeller.

Could be a combination of the three, I doubt the propeller would impact the wave?

I would not hesitate to look at an older model but I would need to save 10,000 to 30,000
You should be able to get a 2014 for under $70,000 for sure

If you wait another year you'll be asking the same question about the AVX vs. the new 2016 system

That probably won't be until 2017 as Ragboy hasn't been pimping anything out other than AVX.

If I got a freeish boat I would certainly pimp it out and keep the freeish boats flowing...New boat every 3-4 years.... I wouldn't complain!

I can say that unmodified (ie - not pimping out with bigger ballast, or changing VX angle or taps plate), the stock Z3 2015 surf wave with AVX and SurfX/XL is better than the stock Z3 2014 I had with Pro Ballast and VX.

That being said, I have a buddy with a 2014 Z3 with Wake9 ballast and it throws a darn nice wave!
