I have the vector tower on my R20. Pretty happy with it. Makes a little noise but I think it is mostly the bimini when I make the front arms really tight it seems to cut down/ eliminate it. I also angled the rear bimini rods down because my larger friends would pull down on the bimini with the surf rope getting up and that would make some creaking. Angling the rods down a few degrees eliminated that issue. I am pretty noise/rattle sensitive and it doesn't bother me anymore. Not bad mouthing the Malibu but I surfed my friends 23' Wakesetter with stock ballast and it was a lousy surf wave. He doesn't have surf gate either. I am sure with some ballast it will improve but that is the extent of my experience surfing behind one. I would definitely check them both out on the water and see what you think/like before you buy.

I sold my 2014 RZR well optioned with VX for $58K. With 18 hours on it. You are getting hosed at those prices. No way is MSRP that high. MSRP on my 2014 RZR wasn't even that. Sounds to me like they are showing you BS MSRP sheets so you think your getting a good deal.

Dealer cost on my R20 w VX, single axle trailer, wetsounds tower of power rev 8, custom color speakers and tower is about 59k....selling to me at like 62k...assuming dealercost.net is 100% accurate.

Same build on an RZR comes at 70k cost.

Who signed off on skipper buds pricing Tige's like a Mastercraft? Ridiculous.

^^Sold my 2014 with more options than that boat on a tandem trailer for…..wait for it……$58k. $75K is still over priced, unless you are OK losing $15K+ first year. I think the prices you are being quoted are high. But you're the one writing the check. You wouldn't be the first person Skipperbud's and Tige's territory rules have driven to another brand!

I hear you! I paid 85k for my 2012 RZ2...sold it for 65k and lost 10k over 3 years of use. I didnt think 3k per year was horrible. There is a 2014 SAN 210 loaded w 58 hours for 70k. Id imagine that boat would hold its value over the next 3 better than a new r20.....

Also the MB B52 is new for 56k with everything Id want but the PNP ballast.....thats not horrible either...but what is the market for resale on MB since there arent any dealers in Wi.....

As you can see, the Tige's tend to put out a very nice surf wave that a lot of people are happy with and I believe that if you take peoples "owner's goggles" off, most would agree it is probably the best wave in the 20' class of boats. It has been shown to you several times on this thread (a lot of good support and pics by everyone - I might add) that the R20/RZR hull puts out a good wave with or without the VX. If you are mainly going to surf, a slightly used R20/RZR might be a good find. I think for wakeboarding the Tige hulls put out a good wake, but are more sensitive to weight distribution/shifting than some other boats.

Does the SAN 210 have NSS on it? If it does not, you will have a difficult time moving that boat down the road as most people prefer a boat with a surf system on it - if it was available at that time. NSS does provide a great deal of weight adjustment. To get the best wave out of the NSS boats, I have experienced quite an improvement if the off side is about 200 lbs lighter than the surf side - so not entirely evenly weighted but does not really list either. If it does, that is a pretty decent deal and the 2014 210 is the new style with the deeper cockpit (similar to Tige) that more people are comfortable in. I also don't feel that the Nautique hulls are not quite as sensitive to weight for a wakeboard wake as the Tige's are.

With the attention that MB gets in other areas of the country, I am surprised that there is not a dealer in the upper Midwest. I have not experience with MBs.

You really have to evaluate your wants and desires but more importantly how you will primarily be using the boat and your budget. Remember that our water is hard about 5 months out of the year.
"I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"

Thanks Dandy! We either have hard water or damn cold water!

The 210 has NSS and upgraded ballast. Pretty well loaded.

I didnt want to spend 70k, but since a new R20 how Id want it, comes in at 66700, it becomes a tougher decision. I would think that 2014 210 would hold close to the 70k price id pay for the 3 years id keep it, where i will likely loose 20k on the Tige.

I if go based on pure price the new MB is king at 56k.

Now I like the Skipper, as they and tige have worked hard for me on boats over the past 4 years, but when I look at the amount of time I can use the boat, and the loss after the first year....buying a demo or leftover is best. The issue is, there aren't many holdover R20 or Rzr boats...and the few around that are....are ugly....thus the reason they are still around!

So is it the consensus that Id need to add more weight with the vx? If so, id like to not take up any more room than whats in the rear locker. Is there a bag for just the rear locker (not under seat)??

                              What does that add?

I can have the factory credit me the cost of the bags to put towards larger ones.

I have the pop sacs. I use in the boat. They don't take a lot of room and are easy to move around. Going forward from the bag there is a good size area below the passenger seat that really isn't a very good storage area. I can fit 6 maybe 8 bags in their if I try and lose no storage area. Each bag weighs 40#'s. Can't tell you how much weight you need additionally for the VX I carry some or all depending on how many passengers I have. If just me and a friend I take them all for surfing on my non VX R20 I put six on the surf side rear and four on the surf side front seat.
