    RZR feedback

Hi all considering options for a 1 or 2yr old used 20' boat to replace my 07 pickle fork MC X2
Have ridden and driven the RZR 2014 build, was pretty stoked with its wake. Though I would like to seek feedback on its wakeboarding & surf wake and its cabin room from owners.
Any issues with touch screens with 2013 or 2014 builds
I like the taps ability to customise the wake size and shape. How much additional ballast to factory is needed for intermediate riders with spins and inverts, will the 400's in the rear be enough.
How many passengers is comfortable for a few hours on the boat, only real concern I have with the RZR. With a couple of young boys I would normally have 6 adults also. Is this going to be cramped for space
I would like to hear from previous or current owners of RZR's

    RZR feedback

If you can use the front for a couple people or the kids at least space would be ok. Not great, but ok with 8. I'd say 5 adults + 1 rider would be fine in the main cabin. We often go with 4-5 adults and 2 kids which feels like enough space for the 2-4 hours. Typically we don't have anyone sitting in front because it's warmer in back.

Wakeboard wake is of the steep variety. With that many adults you may very well be fine with 400's + hard tank for surf, for wake boarding and all people the 400's in top of tanks should be plenty good enough. Of course bigger is always better, but that's easy upgrade - just plug in new bags in the future.

For wakeboarding often with boat load of people we only fill hard tanks. Also went crazy a few times and filled all with many people and added a bow sac partially filled... Maybe 2500lbs total ballast? That was pretty huge wake. We wakeboard 95% of the time.

You'll want the vx hull extension for surf, especially goofy side, makes it cleaner. Surf wake is best for a 20fter I've seen (~4) by far and much better than any mid/early 2000's non deep wake boats if the era I've seen (~several). Also noteably super easy for getting clean big regular surf wake.

I also like the variability the taps and weight options you can give the wake. Kids don't want big wake at all.

Where are you located? If you are anywhere near Denver we can take you out on our 2012.
Here is are some pictures from yesterday, Luke is my friends son and is 14. He came out with us twice last year and this is his first time out this year.

I really like our rzr because it can do everything we need and experienced riders and new comers to water sports can all have fun and I like the higher end finishes than some of the other boats in the price range/boat class.

Thanks for feedback guys, as for the offers I should have noted I'm located in Australia. Getting to the end of our season here and will get another ride in an RZR but now just seeking real life feedback good or not.

Fair dinkum mate, our season is just starting so you have plenty of time to hope on the big bird!

Let us know what you think next time you are on the RZR.

@ danschmatz: Wow what a nice wake! That lip on the wakeboard wake is killer. How much ballast and what speed?

21.9 with about 1300 lbs. Full front, full hard in the rear and about half the surf sacs full for the invert picture and no ballast at 21 for the other pictures.

What size are the surf sacs?
Even with the taps system does the RZR still need to be listed for a good surf wake and whats a good set up?
Sat again in the RZR and i feel alot more comfortable its the right choice for us
As we come to the end of our summer i will be looking out for a 13/14 used RZR

Surf sacs are 350 over the 250 tanks, for 600 total. Not nearly enough. Needs in that 1000 lb range in the surf corner plus people on the surf side. TAPS has 0 to do with surfing, well it helps shape a little. Boats have to be listed over pretty hard. Until I see something else I still feel the RZR/R20 hull has the best surf wave in the 20 foot class. Takes a lot of weight and list to get there.

Back on the search as we are about to come into our summer, well a couple of months away
Will demo an RZR Saturday to see if the seating room is right for us, see how it goes

Here is a shot of my 2012 RZR on the lake yesterday. We have put about 400 hours on it this season and it has treated us very well.

We LOVE our 13' RZR. Best 20ft boat out there. 100% agreed. I demo'd them all. I have even demo'd a bunch of 15' and 16' boats with surf systems and the RZR still has more push. Listing for surfing does get old but for the best wave this is still where its at imo.
