Post your local low lake and hope for rain

Thought I'd start a forum on low lakes as some areas in Kansas are still in an extreme drought and we find ourselves asking if we will even have a ramp to launch our boats this season on our local lakes. Its a month or so out for our first outing and it doesn't look good. Here is Wilson Lake KS lake which is currently 8.4ft below conservation and as you can see we have 3 ramps that are completely shut on the west end of our lake where many ppl camp. Last season we had 1 lane open and would wait in lines for an hour or more to load in the evening. We do have some ramps on the east end of the lake which is another 30min drive and most of us dread it!

Wow! I would be happy to send you some of the rain were getting this week. Trying to build a new shop and its not helping me. Plus my home lake is 3ft high right now. Course the smaller lake to my northwest is 18ft low. Same kind of closures there on ramps and camp grounds.

Here at Bridgeport Lake we are 24 feet low. For some Western lakes, no big deal. The deepest part of our lake is 55'. This is taken from the end of my dock! Supposed to be 6 feet of water under me. The water on the left is only about 1 foot deep and the slight rise you see in the near distance before the deeper water is supposed to be about 10 feet underwater.

Lake Houston is full. Also full of logs and such floating around from all the rain we have had. I was in Vegas this week and did a drive by on Lake Mead. What an amazing body of water! Something like 80 or 90 ft low but still a lot of crystal clear water. I want to go back with my boat.

Someone brought a dock from LOTO to my lake that had zebra mussels on it, they had to lower the lake three feet in order to protect against the mussels.

We are on the Rice reservoir. These 5 reservoirs are some of the main waters that provide flow into the WI river. I have seen these lakes 10-16 ft down this time of year.
This is good to see only 4.7ft from full as we have not completely melted yet. We should be full by May. Let it rain!!!

so your saying a guy could buy a dock real cheap that's crazy how low it is!

My lake is still frozen solid... Should remain so for another month, at least.

JLG, definitely not the time to try and sell, but if you are a buyer, good time. 5 or 6 years ago, it was 18 feet low in May. By July 4th, the lake was closed due to all the docks being underwater and all the floating debris. Not a constant level lake! My dog loved it as he could go swimming without leaving the yard. Mowing used to be no big deal, it is a royal pain now.

Just though I would post a pic from a few weeks ago. Lake was 24 ft low and came up 29 feet in a matter of weeks. Came up another foot after this was taken.

Crazy how much rain texas and Oklahoma have been getting! Good thing you guys were in a drought! We are still 9ft low and dropping daily with the 100 deg temps here. We've received some good rain but only enough to fill ponds and streams. We need a good downpour to the west of our lake to charge it and soon!
