You can rent a houseboat that sleeps 10 for $1230 per night. Ouch

This is what scares me about going through a 3rd party site to book.

chpthril, nearest town is Searchlight, NV - may be hotels up there, but I wouldnt recommend it - its about 13.5 miles. If the hotel booking doesnt pan out, we may end up looking closer at a houseboat.

I called cottonwood cove. They told me to call tomorrow afternoon to verify they received our reservations. I know when I have booked at some resorts they reserve a block of rooms for booking sites. I have gotten rooms before through booking .com when the resort said they were full. I am positively hopefully.

I know Searchlight is close but can't speak to the quality of hotels....Laughlin is the next bet or Boulder City/Henderson. The camping is a good option and a few of us will have our RVs there for a little base camp as discussed in my last post. Hopefully this works out with space to accommodate everyone!!

Laughlin would be the closest. The motels I have seen in searchlight look very sketchy

Great post Dave, I posted as well. I also tried to post to their FB page but was not allowed to for some reason.

Ok, its official, no rooms at cottonwood.

                            Back to Temple???????

temple is wide open on phone with them right now

I would definitely like the motel by the lake. I read reviews on the el Rey and bv motels in searchlight which were not that bad. Really did not want to drive the 15 miles after hanging on lake and with Tigeowners afterwards. Need to get a consensus quickly. Keep temple bar or cottonwood.

I received notification from Forever Resorts (via booking.com) that they are full, so the booking.com effort failed as well. I personally would much rather stay at Cottonwood if for no other reason than the water level and launch ramp. Sadly, my wife said her dry camping days are behind her. Hmmm - that houseboat option is looking more and more attractive. I vote Cottonwood, even if we have to drive 15 miles to the launch every day.
