    Wow, $1,500 board!

I did a double take on the new James Walker Pro Board.

Wish them luck because I really enjoy their blog. I am amazed at the price though. I thought $1k was pushing it for some custom boards but $1500 takes the cake.

Cool board, but I agree that it's crazy high. Someone will buy it though I'm sure.

It says "The James Walker Signature Model is the exact same board that James Walker rides in all of his videos and at competitions." That explains the high price - there's only one in existence, since it's "the exact same board"!

Go try and build something similar from any of the custom shops. Base price on a custom board is usually about $700 for plain white with stock Futures/FCS fins. Add carbon rails/deck/bottom, $100 for each of those, add bamboo veneer, probably $100, add graphics of some kind, probably $100. Black Stix fins are $90-$110 upgrade. It adds up pretty quickly.

Definitely, and this certainly isn't just another board.
If you have read their blog, they definitely push the design phase. Here are a couple links from their blog that people might find interesting.

Still was a little bit of sticker shock seeing it. I guess it should have been that big of a surprise. I think when inland was making their Flyboy it was pushing 800-900 so moving to a domestically made board using advanced building techniques, the price goes up pretty quickly.

Sounds crazy high!! However like it's been pointed out this board has a higher level of construction and includes all the bells and whistles. I think it's well worth the price and plenty of people will buy it. I spent more than this on a snowboard, it was money well spent and you can always tell the difference when you spend that extra money. If it makes your riding better and increases your overall enjoyment then it's well worth the price. Let's just hope there is a demo program so we can test it before buying it.
