I'm having trouble with my 2006 22v. It will go into gear ok but sometimes it won't accelerate . other times it works great. This happens a few times a day. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Likely not your issue but do you have perfect pass with the throttle by cable? I had a weird situation where I thought I was losing power and the perfect pass wiring harness interfered with the throttle cable so it appeared like I had the throttle buried and engine wasn't getting any power. It was pretty obvious after opening the engine hatch and watching it.

if that boat has perfect pass it is most likely the potentiometer that sits behind the throttle handle. Little black piece that costs around $100. Your symptoms sound like what my 07 would do on occasion and it will get worse over time. Your dealer can get you the part needed and most likely has them on hand.
Sorry I said perfect pass and yes that is exactly what I had in my 07 and the potentiometer when it was bad would cause me the exact same issue you are describing.
I wanted to add that if I turn the boat off and wait a few momentd and restart it. It usually works fine for a few accelerations then starts acting up again
I would want to confirm that the boat is actually a 22V with a marine power TBW. By the book, an 06 V would not have a TBW. But an 06 that did have TBW and the Tige EIDB, was prone to battery voltage issues that would cause the same symptom.

If it were a voltage issue I would want to think that the boat would make a clicking sound when starting or not start at all. I'm no expert just going off of what you said were the symptoms and had many dealers say it was a variety of things when mine gave me the same issues and one dealer who I trust said "trust me its the potentiometer for $100 I'll have it to your door in a couple days" I was reluctant and sure the sh++ it was the potentiometer! So at this point I'm saying trust me as your in CA where the weather is ridiculous nice and I'm sure your dealer has one or several in stock as its common for the late model 06-07 boats with MP engines and speedset cruise.

The 06 was unique for a few things. 1st year for the TBW and the EIDB. When the boat got order with EIDB, the single battery harnesses got split to both batteries. this resulted in the ECM "seeing" 2 different voltage inputs. If there was little difference in the battery voltage of the 2 banks, it cause the ECM to set a code 81 and go into safe mode. So not a voltage issue with the cranking battery that prevented engine starting, but a computer input voltage issue that cased some confusion within the ECM. This also bled into the early 07 models before the harness was rewired.
Given the age of the boat, the throttle POT is a likely issue.

Yes it is a 06 with TBW. I believe it was the last year of the 22V. It did not come with dual batteries but I had the dealer in Corona Can installed a secound battery with a perco switch

Yes, 06 was the last year for the V, but they technically werent supposed to get the marine power TBW engines or the EIDB. Without knowing what style of switch, its hard to draw a conclusion. If it was wired correctly, i dont see it mimicking the EIDB as it used a diode isolator.
