I am sure @chpthril's math is correct ;-)
Not my math, ive got Tige's PDF

you blow the seat up, which happens with other bags
I, like you, have been making adjustments to the leg height for this same reason. The Z3 is the only boat ive seen this issue. I hear this is why Tige when to their own in-house sac with a very short leg.

this also happened in our RZ2, RZ4, 24Ve, and I assume would also happen on the Z1, so similar to the Z3. It happened in every one of those boats and was why I was working on my own custom measurements. Tige then offered to work together with us on it.

I'm curious if it will work with the FAE or if it's gonna have clearance issues, my boat has the dual exhaust dumps.

Are you referring to the taps plate? I don't see how it would interfere, since the new taps is actually shorter and wider, so since its shorter, it would probably give more clearance.

Ragboy, how much shorter is the taps plate compared to the original and is it thicker? Also wonder if aluminum would work?

I contacted Tige and my boat is scheduled to be completed by March 30th, I can ask if needed, so from what has been discussed will my late build z3 have less ballast than what was specked or in the earlier builds?

If the rear hard tanks are gone the bags would need to be larger and drop down into the cavity that once were the hard tanks? i did order the avx and xl or whatever the largest ballast option is called.

Also talking with acme I think I am going with a 15x 14.25 pitch rather than the 12 pitch, just not sure what cup to order, told that every .040 cup = 1" pitch
So if true a 14.25 pitch prop with .150 cup would be like running 17" pitch?

@Ragboy: According to Tige Engineering, they started with your goofy sac but the seat pushed up. The decreased the leg height until the seat wouldn't push up anymore. That was 6" of height...The dimensions I was given by Tige for the new bags is they only hold 900 lbs based on the dimensions... Doesn't seem like enough...

@ Tomp: Bags are 900 lbs in the rear..... Let me know which prop you were thinking of going for. Mine is starting production March 16th, so I guess i still may have some prop options...

Did they give you a prop number? I see they have the 2249 which is what I'm considering. These are the numbers from their site and think most of these would be a good choice. Top 2419 is stock for comparison.

Are you running any weight over stock when you surf?

is it not coming on plane easily?

Greeko We only run stock but mine is the first order 15s and has the underfloor tanks. Yes it planes very fast while surfing or slalom skiing but top ends fast also. With the 2419 you have to somewhat ease into the throttle while surfing as its a beast out of the hole! I am most likely going to order the 2249 prop to see what it will do as I don't want a huge increase in speed but 4mph would be great! If anything I will have a spare. Keep us posted of your order and results.

Thanks for letting me know! How is the fuel economy on her?

I am looking at getting custom bags and some lead to get the ballast up to 4000 lbs... I am thinking the stock 2419 may be too much still lol...but I guess its better to have too much than not enough... I can get the cup adjusted locally for around $50.

Have you thought about getting a local prop shop to increase the cup 0.075" to make it a 2313 15.00 12.000 0.150 cup 4 1 1/8" LH ?

That way you aren't buying another prop ... just a thought

@greeko I don't pay a lot of attention to fuel but a couple times I did would average it around 4gph at mixed play. Haven't considered cupping it as I like to have a spare around as our lake is extremely low still and seems that the wife hits things on occasion yes she is still alive and breathing!

                              LOL,

I completely understand! I have a couple spare props from my last boat..I don't run them often...but s**t happens right...

At least your wife is willing to drive the boat. Mine doesn't feel comfortable driving unless its surfing speed LOL
