There is a bit of a story about our sacks and the seat push-up issue. Charlie Pigeon asked for "the same sacks used by wake9" in his own Z3. At the time, we were using sacks made by flyhigh through wakemakers. He didn't like the seat push up thing and we had to go through I think 3 or 4 sets to get it just right.

We are working on a new version of our sacs for all boats with something special, can't wait to share...

According to the sack drawings from Tige the dimensions are 33 x 22 x 24 body,69 x 22 x 5 in the arm. Thats 25000 Cubic inches of water, that equates to approximately 902 lbs..
900 in each rear corner, 2900lbs is what you get ... If you get information to prove otherwise I would be happy to see it
I get the same weight for the sacs, but I think you are forgetting the 250 lb hard tank on each side-1,100 up front, 900 in each corner + 500 in tanks =3,400.

Rag - you are killing me. Is this something that we can get on our 2015 that is not yet in production?

Also, those sacs were carefully fitted to the Z3 and the Z1 with different measurements til they fit the space right when filled, not putting too much pressure on the boat in certain areas. For example, if you have space that is 12 inches tall too fill, you may make the sack 6 inches tall in measurement. But when you fill it up with water, it fills up the space. If you did it at 12 inches, you blow the seat up, which happens with other bags and not with ours, we were very careful about this. The same goes for the measurements in the locker.

Lets just say that MLA has acknowledged the Z3 seat lifting issue, not denied it. MLA has worked hard to revise the Z3 custom sac design. Even though MLA doesnt own a Z3, we feel that version 3 has it addressed, with no blame on the sac manufacture, as they only produce the submitted design.

MLA has a Z3 coming in next week that will be fitted with the V3 sacs.

That would be true for early revisions on the Z3...Hard tanks were removed shortly into 2015 production year to simplify plumbing...

Just got off the phone with Tige. The SurfXL ballast is still 3,500 lbs.
No hard tanks and bag combo, took too long to fill and empty.

They lowered the floor and inserted larger bags. Each port and starboard rear bag is 1,200 lbs. with two 550 bags up front.

                    Whom did you chat with?
This is the dimension of the "larger" bags straight from Tige engineering...tige sack.jpg

This volume of the sack 25000 Cubic inches of water. 25000 cu in of water does not equate to 1200 lbs...

I would be super stoked if the bags were actually 1200.... But unless I'm shown proof I won't believe a salesman's word...

Greeko - I talked with the East Regional guy.
I said there are rumors on TigeOwners.com that the bags are smaller. I then asked - Do I need to get larger bags from Robert at wake9? He said no they make their own bags to the same dimensions that Robert sells, the SurfXL is still 3,500lbs. Just no hard tanks. They increased the size of the bags to 1,200lbs by lowering the floor. He said that you would not be able to tell the floor is lower. He also said his boat is going down the line now and will have the lower floor and larger bags.

I have to think the bag schematics that you have from engineering are when they had the in-floor hard tanks. It makes sense. 900lb bags + hard tanks + bow bags = SurfXL.
As we know hard tanks were for early production 2015s. According to the Regional guy the bag dimensions changed as the floor is lower and they still maintain SurfXL weight.

One other thing to consider is that the dims they provided are most likely empty. I do believe that the bags do expand some when full, not sure how much, but I believe they do some. Maybe someone smarter than me can confirm/deny this.

Having Tiges actual sac schematic in hand, I do concur that they come in right at 900 lbs. The schematic i have actually shows a drop in the locker floor, indicating a tank is no longer there.

I also scoff at the dual 550's up front. Just imagine taking one of these wake9 rear bags and stuffing it: up front. No effin' way that will fit.
