line x a swim grid

Just wondering if anyone has ever rino lined or line ex a teak swim grid? I know we all like the look of a nice teak grid but as far as maintenance goes just thinking it would be non slip and done for a few years ??? any thoughts

I have seen several that have been lined. Don't look as nice but not slippery and you aren't always redoing the teak.

Not sure if i could bring myself to do that to a teak platform. I like teak platforms and wish my RZ2 had one. From what i've been told the LineX does hold up well on the platforms though.

I did it on my 2002 Tige. No maintanance and held up great for the 3 years I had the boat.

Ya, I LineX'd my old fiberglass one and it was great. I'm sure you could do a teak one as well. I've seen others in the past (write up on wakeworld) where they made a new platform out of plywood and had it lineX'd.

Teak is so pretty though!

If you want to add some umph to your Teak Deck you can add a bit of sand into the varnish layers. This will prolong the life on the teak deck and add a ton of grip! You still get the great look of the teak but with added traction and function!

My boat was, I suspect, Rhino lined before I bought it. It seems much thicker than Line-X so I think Rhino or some other product. I really like it, the transom is black so having the deck black looks very good and unless your're right up next to it you'd think it was factory that way. Normally I'd like the teak, but this looks pretty good in my opinion.

I probably would not varnish the teak. It will need to be sanded off eventually as well.

I had rhino liner on my 2002 and it held up great.

My current boat has teak and it sure does look pretty. Maintenance is not as bad as others make it seem.

thanks for the comments ... my boat stays in the water all summer and I have put marine cetol on it and it works and looks great . just thinking for next time...
