    22 V and 24Ve issues

This is a separate thread started for the issues related to the differences and problems found in the 04' to 09 years of the 22v and Ve models.

The other threads discuss mainly differences between hulls and engine combinations yet only mentions there are issues with certain years.

I have the MPI engine in my 2007 24Ve. There have been mentioned issues in the different years, engine combinations and speed sets.

What are these common issues specific to each?

I have had some issues with running, and erratic idle, and erratic speed sets. I have the EFI multi port, 360hp, MPI engine with electronic shift/throttle and "speed set" cruise control.

Where should I and others look for trouble shooting problems?

Most will say to replace the speedset dash pad, but in my 07 22ve with the 340mp I sent the ecm off to eddie at Marine Power and he flashed it at only the charge of shipping. Mine would do as your describing and once I got it back it never gave me issues again. I would start there before throwing parts at it. Contact eddie at MP first.

I also had to replace the potentiometer behind the throttle lever as it would intermittently not "take off" when I would throw the throttle. Would seem like the trans wasn't going into gear but it was actually the potentiometer not sensing throttle. $100 fix there and easy to change out.

      2009 24Ve:

Occasionally cruise control - in fact the overall digital dash -will just "reset". We'll be surfing along in cruise control and then look down and realize that the graphics display has reset back to the setup menu (where you select which screen you wish to be viewing). Cruise control continues to hold speed (because it's really the engine's ECU that does so, the helm instrumentation just tells it what speed to maintain) but to do anything the driver has to manually step through the menu system to restore the screen, AND turn the cruise control toggle switch off, then on again. It's a PITA but we know how to handle it. And yes, we've flashed the latest firmware into the helm electronics (thanks, Harvey @ Tige!). It gave us a few new features but didn't correct this.

Otherwise, the boat has no other build issues or chronic problems. We're quite pleased with it!

EDIT: Looking at the TLP again, I'm not sure if you're interested in the 24 footer or not. The title says yes, but the first line of the body implies no. If not, I'll delete my response so as not to clutter the thread.
