    Perfect Pass and broken tower?

Well, I replaced the steering cable (thanks for the help and tips) and went out yesterday. I can't figure out the perfect pass. It will come on and blink, but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions? It's a 2001 21V. Also, my tower broke, which is obviously a bigger deal than the perfect pass, but I did some searching on here and it broke in the same place some others have. Does anyone know the number to Metcraft? Will they still replace the H-bar and how much?

My Metcrap... er... Metcaft tower has broken 3 times. If you can get it fixed for free by Metcraft, do it. Otherwise, I would look for a different tower because it will break again if you fix it.

I bought the boat from a friend of mine and he already had to have it fixed once. I thought the problem had been fixed, but obviously, it hasn't.

Just get a new tower. Those things are the worst. On the way home from dinner last night we were following someone towing their older Malibu with one earlier proflight towers. My wife was shocked at how much the tower moved as they drove down the road. She asked if our old Metcrap was that bad and I replied "Worse".

It's just going to keep breaking. Maybe get it fixed for the summer but I would start shopping. Towers have come a long way and having a new one that doesn't shake, rattle and roll will make it seem like a new boat. My personal choice right now would be the Sampson.

I have had my Samson tower for three years, no problems. we have some pretty big boys (250+) pulled off of it.

Since this obviously isn't a problem with just a limited number of towers, is there, or was there ever a solution offered by either Metcaft or Tige to fix the problems with these towers? Almost everyone I have talked to with this tower has had the same problems. It is very frustrating to have problems like this on such a pricey piece of equipment.

From what I understand, no. Warranty is up, time for a new tower. When I first got my Tige, I bought it knowing that the tower was a weak point and it would eventually have to be replaced. I was lucky enough to have done some planning ahead and I managed to get it replaced before it broke. Towers we're pretty simple back then (back then) , and that particular Metcraft was hands down one of the worst designs ever so far as strength is concerned. The Tige under it was worth every penny though. It's rather ironic that the strongest boats had the weakest towers. Tige, what we're you thinking?
