To buy or not to buy??? Convex vx on a 20 footer

Anyone know if the convex vx for a rzr or r 20 is worth buying??

We have it on our 2014 RZR, and love it! Do you have the boat already without it?

If you are buying a new one, I would definitely get it. You will have to add more weight with the vx than without it, but it's well worth the extra money. Better than get it now than try to retrofit it later. Good luck!

On another thread guys are saying that the Vx is no longer available from Tigé.

I ordered my 2015 R20 with the vx. Better to get it up front than wishing you would have got it later.

The Vx is still available on 2015 R20. The other models will be AVX only.

We have a 2014 rzr and I was just seeing if it was worth buying or just keep it with out. It's easy to put on and I can still get it from the dealer.

I would get it if for nothing else the re sale value if you ever need to sell. Very rarely do you hear some one say man that is too much wave.

I have heard that without the VX the starboard/goofy wake can easily get washed out. Some people build a flap to smooth it out however

It only makes a real difference on the goofy side. It requires way more weight also. So don't just consider the VX cost but also the cost of the W005 sacs your going to need to weight it.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but anyone know what adding Vx does to the boat's slalom wake? I recognize that's not an issue for most of the members commenting on this thread, but just curious for future reference....

Adding the VX should not change the slalom wake at all.

Won't change a thing…its out of the water at planning speeds. Doesn't effect wake boarding either.

That is a good question as I wonder if it might affect the slalom also. My logic tells me that it would to a degree if you were to shorten the rope as the VX would cause the swell to be a couple feet further back than normal. With that would also cause a little more of a spray pocket with a shortened rope. I know the VX helps to smooth the wave up close to the boat or extend the pocket, but along with the extension you have a taller swell further back causing more spray IMO but I'm no engineer! Enlighten me please if I'm thinking incorrectly.
