What do you mean by 'Tige not backing' the current dealer? That is not meant to sound rude, it is an honest question. Anything other than stronger territory restrictions?

It is very interesting how some dealers have an excellent relationship with their manufacturer, and others don't. I frankly have observed that it goes both ways. When a dealer does not sell many boats, the relationship sours, so it seems to be a chicken and egg thing. High volume dealers seem to create a love-fest both ways. It is really not our business, but I would be very interested to find out how many boats they sold this year. In this world of immediate results, it is hard for any business to not move on hoping that the next one will do better.

I will say that when it was mentioned that they have some leftover boats, I went to their website and was really underwhelmed with the description. They are trying to sell an electric blue 2014 Z3 with a 350 motor for 107K. The picture is a brochure photo. I am well known for being cheap, but it seems high.

Considering there are quite a few used 2014's around with super low hours(30-40) in the low 70's that is a price that is over the moon. Some one just posted a demo(so like buying new, warranty, etc.) well loaded for 74K this week. 2014 Z-3's never sold anywhere close to that. With a stock motor that is likely MSRP.

If they were trying to sell at prices like that then its not hard to figure out why they aren't a dealer anymore. Probably weren't selling much and were driving customers to buy out of territory with their pricing. There is a dealer in a close territory here like that, whose name I won't mention because every time I do they whine and I get a phone call telling me to be nice or edit my posts!! LOL I'm not a fan of the territory thing. I think it discourages competition and can drive buyers away. I'm also cheap, like talltigeguy, so I will never own certain brand boats where I am at because the dealer is selling at 5% off. One of the reasons I bought my first Tige was aggressive pricing by my local dealer. At that time I would have bought a Moomba if the sales guy hadn't laughed at me when i said i wanted at least 15% off MSRP. They offered less than 5%.
