How do you guys expect dealers to continue opening there doors and hire qualified personal if they don't make mark up on there parts. Profit margins on boat sales and labour isnt going keep the doors and lights on.

No different in Automotive, heavy equipment world. Sometimes it worth it to pay the mark up instead of purchasing it online to have it right there and now.

A good dealer is worth its weight in gold but not in there mark up in there prices for parts.....

Give it couple months, I am sure eventually you see someone take the parts off a AVX and try to retro fit the system to their boat. Or heck why not try to install it your self, if not I am sure you could figure how to install a VX on yours.

      Snowsurfer85,

Installation is not the issue. The issue is part availability. Tige said they are no longer selling VX retro kits. This makes no sense unless they are only making AVX going forward. The contact at Tige never emailed me back after saying they can no longer supply the kit. Still not satisfied. If anyone has another contact at the factory, please let me know.

If you give tigé your HIN they can pull up a parts list for everything installed. I guess though what mschmidt33 tried to do was order the parts for the AVX and install it himself. It's a similar situation to Bu and the surfgate, from what I understand you can't order the parts to put it on an older hull either. The boat companies want us to get new boats to get the new goodies. The major contention though is that for someone who just ordered a 2015 before AVX was announced you can't get it added to your 2015 boat. I can see why that's the case for a 2014 but they should be able to add it to a 2015 boat.

@Ewok..he is just string to get a standard VX, he said in the first post he knew he couldn't get the AVX. AVX couldn't work on anything prior to 2015 as it needs the murphy based Tige Touch 2 to control it. Medallion based TT 2014 and prior can't.

Sorry, yes, I missed a part of the discussion with reading the Taptalk feed.

It really was just a short part list. The bottom line is that there is about a 100% markup on everything. A $400 MSRP part has a dealer cost of about $200. That doesn't surprise me, they have to make money. I was not smart enough to have copied it at the time, but once it was here, it is probably in cyberspace somewhere for good.

I hate to bring this thread back from the dead but I'm still fired up. Dealer has had my boat for 6+months now and still could not handle a winter punch list of warranty items. We had an unfortunate cigarette burn mess up some vinyl last fall and I'm paying Tige insane amounts of money to replace the skins. Just found out this week that they made the skins wrong! Shame on Tige for messing up and the dealer for not checking before going to install them. I'm baffled on how this process is handled. I just want my boat back! The one positive is that the service rep has been very good about answering questions and calling me back. He just never has any good news but I don't think it is his fault. I have so many upgrades waiting to be installed! Warm weather is here!
