    Veteran's Day

Just a shout out to all the vets that are part of this forum. Thanks for your service.

We run the Tige with an American flag flying (when my son hasn't temporarily replaced it with a pirate flag) in an attempt to remind ourselves and our friends that we are able to enjoy our favorite pastime of boating and water sports thanks to men and women much braver than us.

Thank you to all who have served in our Armed Forces.

We run an American flag as well, when we aren't pulling someone. It's about pride in my country that my grandfathers and my father have fought and sacrificed for. It's not perfect, but it's the best thing going for the last 238 years. Thank you to everyone for recognizing veterans today, it's a big turn around from the way my father was greater when he came home from Vietnam.

It's great too see people recognizing the vets on a day like today. As a vet, I just wish there was more everyday for the older vets that are around. Almost 1 suicide an hour and 80% is veterans over 50 years old. I wish I could single handedly save em all. I love talking to these older guys in vfw's. They are truly inspirational. Happy vets day to all past and present vets.

I happen to also be a vet--but my contribution pales in comparison to so many thousands of others. My neighbor at the lake is a 92 year old retired full bird colonel from the Army Air Forces and flew A24 Banshee dive bombers in the Pacific theater in WW2. Talk about a living legend; there are not too many of these old guys around anymore. He survived several tours in his plane and dozens of combat missions. What are the odds. His name is Elliot Wooldridge, and he is the biggest stud I have ever met in my life. I hope he sticks around for several more years, he is absolutely amazing. I wish you all could meet him and hear him talk about his flying career.

Nowadays he rolls like a boss in a huge mid-90s Caddy that shines like a diamond. Watch out when he is backing up though, it can be a bit sketchy. But we don't care, he can bump into my car all day. Love that guy!
Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like bananas!
