    Indmar 350 HP Winterization

Well the weather is going to dip in the low 30s for the next few days so that means I will need to drain the water out of the engine block. Does anyone know what hoses and how many drain plugs I will need to pull to drain all of the water out? Or better yet, anyone have any video or pictures? This is for the INDMAR M57 350HP engine.

Size of wrenches would be a bonus too.

    Thanks in advance.

I can tell you the way they come from the factory. First you have 2 knock sensors on the side of the block. That is your block drains. Pull both the bolts, 9/16 socket I believe. If you have a heater pull both lines off the engine. They are on the top rear port side. Tige also removes the hoses at the core in front of the drivers console. Then pull all 3 large lines off the raw water pump on the back of the engine. 2 large hoses on the starboard side and the J tube on the port side. Leave everything undone. Thats how they are shipped from the factory.

Here is a link to the owners manual for that engine, looks like there are either hises or drain plugs on the V-drive as well Page 7-1 starts the winterization section.

Don't forget the water strainer if you have one & pull the hose off of the v-drive to allow it to drain. I actually just blow through the hose that connects raw water pump to the v-drive. There is also a hose that goes around the back of the engine connecting the exhaust manifolds-disconnect these from each other.
