Body boarding behind the 24v

My cousin body boards in the ocean and we had him out on the 24v to try it behind the boat.

He had a blast I was surprised how well it went with the inherent drag. He wore fins that let him kick into the wave when he started to fall back.

That looks sweet! My first worry would be if he is putting his head too close to the exhaust and might get a few blasts of carbon monoxide. But honestly, I think if you are that active, it probably isn't going to be a problem. Good to see him wearing his PFD. The carbon monoxide might do some harm, but spending 45 minutes on the bottom of the lake usually finishes the job off.

Tall I share your worry and it was dangerous of me not to warn others that I have an fae and that body boarding (or riding in the rear surf corner seat) of a v drive at surf speeds is reckless.

From what I have read, CO is higher closer to the water than while standing without fae.

I have smelled exhaust while idling on the swim platform. However, with fae as soon as it's in gear. It's gone (I realize Co is colorless and odorless but the smell of exhaust is a hint there might be Co issues).

I have an fae and all the measurements for Co were near zero in the ballast boy seat while underway in wake9 's analysis.

Carbon monoxide is no joke and not to be messed with. My first boat I owned had over transom exhaust. At the end of the day I always had light headaches and assumed it was the sun, wind, and noise from my loud v8. After reading up on Co prior to buying a boat for surfing, I am convinced it was carbon monoxide exposure.

We were out on Havasu near Parker dam. We stayed at Havasu Springs Resort.

What was the water temp? We're going out for Thanksgiving, and I want to talk the kids into some wet suit riding.

Warm, my cousin was actually hot in the wetsuit. I trunked it mid day and wore a heater top for the early morning run. Water Temps were 68-70 range on the gauge. Air Temps got pretty warm too. I couldn't believe how great the water/air was for being November.

It was our first time going there. My daughters had fun in the pool and the playground too. We really enjoyed it a lot but seeing all the empty slips had me wondering how crazy it must get in the summer.

It's definitely crowded in the summer, but it's not as crazy as the north end (up by the channel/bridge/Copper Canyon/etc.). Maybe we'll see you guys out there some time. Would love to see your mods in person.

Sounds fun! We also hit up local lakes (Vail, Perris and Elsinore) if you ever take your boat out locally.

And thanks for thread jacking! I got to learn more about the springs. I might hit you up for more questions about it if we plan another trip there.

One warning is to be careful on the launch ramp. Water is low and it looked like there were some boulders that could end up in a prop strike if you aren't careful. Retrieving there is a shelf on the right side that will make your trailer unlevel for Retrieving (launching less of an issue).

Yep, we've had all those issues at the ramp. It's particularly tough with our inboards that have no control in reverse.

Started with the rope. Without fins, I doubt you could do much other than ride really close to the swim deck. He did have fins to help kick back in as he dropped back as lost push.
