Well looky there! It looks like your manifold risers are basically the reverse of mine! I am sure its probably not as easy as swapping sides, but man do you have a ton more room back there. I should look into the possibility of reversing them. Probably a long shot.

I will have to think that over.....I really would appreciate the most quiet motor I could get, so maybe keeping the muffler benefits me in that way. I want surfing to be a very social thing for the kids and us--and since none of them can surf yet (10-6-4-2mos old) there will be lots and lots of verbal instructing going on. I wonder how quiet straight pipes with FAE becomes....in comparison.
However, if these mufflers are known to suck for any reason, like breaking, cracking or anything, I would be in favor of eliminating it now, while I have the time. Take out the weak links. Lake time is precious here in South Dakota as I imagine it is in Saskatchewan.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like bananas!

Where does the extra locker space on the V come from? Is the cabin on the ve bigger and the lockers smaller?

FYI, my 06 24ve has the exact same crossover piece, so I think it just an 06 thing.
I also have FAE on my boat.
Originally posted by dakota4ce View PostI have completely different risers, it seems. Mine go backward, then enter into a horizontal tubular muffler chamber that is located high, behind the engine (just in front of the rear entertainment center compartments) which is 7-8" in diameter. That chamber then drops two verticals down that curve out the back at the normal exhaust ports. The whole apparatus fills the entire space behind the motor.
It sure is quiet, though. Wonder if this was some strange "super quiet" option or something. I mean.....look at this behemoth!
