I'm far from knowledgable on sound systems.
I am going with 2 of the rev 10 speakers and they come with a complete package, there is no detail on my option list about the amp provided?

What is the deference between the Syn and Sd amps, my dealer added an amp and revs 10 to my 2014 but not sure what amp was used, wet sounds I think?
I did not get the order info to the dealer on Friday so I have a little more time to decide, on my 2014 the battery would only last an hour at best with the volume low, normal ?

Defiantly go with the double batteries and as far as the rest of your stereo concerns chipthrl is your man to ask.

The Syn series is class- G/H power supply and the SD series is class-D, which is a little more efficient. The SD series all share the same chassis for easy install, front mounted adjustments with all the connections on the same end. The Syn series are fan cooled, the SD does not need to be. The SD amps have a beast of a power supply, but the Syn series is no slouch either. Both have diagnostics, but the SD's have power roll back.

Specifically with in those series, the best amp for a single pair of Rev-10 is a Syn-4 and SD2. The Syn-4 will only drive a single pair. It will deliver 400W rms when in 2 chnl bridge mode. But, that asking every bit of power that amp will deliver, as all 4 chnls are seeing a 2 ohm load. The SD-2 will also deliver 400W rms to a single pair, but this is done with each chnl seeing only a 4 ohm load. This means the amp is working not as hard. The SD-2 will allow for the expansion to a 2nd pair of Rev-10.

I think is worth pointing out that there are 2 things you get, when you purchase the tower speakers on the actual Tige build sheet. 1) they are warrantied as other items on the boat are. 2) you do get a cosmetic proprietary collar from Tige that you CAN NOT get when you buy the speakers from a retailer. It only makes sense that that would add to their cost.

my 2014 the battery would only last an hour at best with the volume low, normal ?
I know we touched on this in a recent thread of yours, but lets hit it again cause it could apply to anyone. I think you either had a bad battery that was not able to reach a full charge, or your boat was getting put away with a low battery, resulting in the next out starting off with a handicap.

Based on some of the chosen options, I think your boat will come with dual batteries by default. I would plan on an on-board charger.

On the advice of a local Wetsounds dealer, I installed a separate Audison LXr amp to power my Rev-10 tower speaks. He claimed the Wetsounds amps were not as good. I have no opinion on this, but was wondering about your take, chpthril? I can tell you I was very happy with a single set of Rev-10's running off the Audison amp.

I also installed the Wetsounds WS-420 EQ to split the boat speakers from the tower speakers. Having different volume levels between the speakers is so awesome. You don't have to crush the eardrums of your in-boat friends while cranking the decibels for your rider. Plus, you get a microphone that works over the tower speaks, which is great for giving advice to riders mid-sesh. This was the best $300 I spent on the entire boat! Hopefully Tige starts offering the 420 as a factory option in the near future!

            @ SurfNerd,

I have no intimate knowledge of the Audison, so nothing negative to say, but here are a few basic differences between the LRx series and the Wet Sounds Syn-4 and SD-2, since we are talking powering Rev-10's

Audison LRX is Class-AB, where as the Syn is G/H and the SD is Class-D. Both are quite a bit more efficient than class-A/B.
The Set Sounds amps are ALL marine built, the LRx is not
The SD series has a 10W x 13.5L footprint and the LRx 4.1, which i presume is the model you are using, is 7W x 21L
The Syn and SD series are processor controlled with LED diagnostics and thermal rollback protection.
The SD series has built in standoffs for clean installs by allowing the cables to enter from behind the amp. Single cover covers the setting dials and terminal end.
The Syn-4 can be bridged correctly and run 2 chnl stereo or summed mono. The SD-2 is 2 chnl stereo. The LRx 4-chnl description says they can be run 2 chnl, but I only see 3 chnl specs and a quick look at the controls, I dont see how there either.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have your level of technical knowledge, but the Rev-10's really thump out the volume with absolutely zero distortion via the Audison.

I am also spec'ing a Z3 for 2015. I plan to go with two Rev-8's and two Rev-10's on the tower. Reading above, my only option would be to go with an SD-2 amp, correct?

I'd also like to know how you would recommend adding the WS-420 to the equation ...

Yes, the Wet Sounds SD-2 would be the ideal amp for 2 pair of Rev-8 or Rev-10. I would suggest going with either 2 pair of one or 2 pair of the other, but not to mix. Since you already have an ear for the Rev-10, I think you should go with 2 pair of Rev-10, as you would miss the mid-bass, if you stepped down to the Rev-8.

I would go with the WS-420SQ and the under-dash mount. Such a clean install, although I have seen a couple Tiges with the 420 to the left of the wheel, flush mount right in the dash pad. Personally, I like the EQ's located to the right. This allows the left hand to stay on the wheel and the throttle and EQ to be operated via the right hand.

The WS-420 SQ gives you dual EQ adjustments do independent tweaking of the tower and in-boats speakers

                  3-zone volume control + master

Its also a line driver for a stronger pre-amp signal to the amps.

As far as speakers and rings yes only do the pre-wire from factory and your dealer can order the speakers separately for way cheaper. You will have to get at least 2 tower speakers when you order the tower of power option though. Your dealer should mount and wire all the amps etc for you before delivery at little to no charge or at least mine did. On the other hand you won't get the factory "fancy" speaker mount covers on tower but who cares they look just fine without them IMO!
I checked out 2 2015 Tige ASRs today, this is what I found. 1 had the upgraded 808's and 2 pair of REV-10. In-boats and sub driven by an SD-6 and towers driven by an SD-2. This boat cam direct form the factory and was unwrapped just Saturday. Im pretty sure it didnt make a stop at the aftermarket marine audio installer, but he did spec out some upgrades to it today. The other ASR had the base level 650's and sub with only a single pair of tower, and had the Syn-6 and Syn-2 package. So, it seems that the SD line is available from Tige.

I wouldn't doubt that tige installs or can install the sd amps at the factory but at what price over the syn series? I personally ordered mine directly from my dealer and am sure I saved hundreds on all the wetsounds equipment for my particular boat. On the other hand it would be nice if the sd series and 808 speakers were the standard when you upgrade to the tower of power stereo option.

^^^I posted this a while back when someone claimed SD's weren't factory. Both the 2014 ASR's that arrived to the dealer I worked at had SD amps.

SD's aren't on the build sheet for the other boats but are available if your dealer asks for them.

But based on what I saw today, they are indeed optional on the ASR, but maybe not standard.

I don't think they are standard. I think they come onboard when you go to the 808's.

It was a while back and I was just saying they were available even if it was listed on the build sheet. There were a few that thought they knew better and claimed they were not an option and that Tige didn't use them.

Without seeing an actual build sheet, id say its a safe assumption that if you want to upgrade to the 808's in an ASR, you're getting the SD-6. Im wonder if getting 2 pair of Rev-10 automatically gets you the SD-2.

It is my understanding that the ASR comes standard with the 808's. Not sure about amp configuration, The Denver boat show is this weekend I will make sure to ask the question and report back.
