    Original Engine Hours

I sent all my gauges out to Faria so the hour meter will be set to 0.

They told me it would be documented what hours were on the Gauge.

My question is how do you verify actual engine hours from the ECU ?

    Thanks for any positive input.

what engine do you have? You will have to take the boat to a dealer who has the software / program for that engine manufacturer to do a down load.

My 2004 Tige had the Faria hour meter reset a couple times. It also had perfect pass installed from the factory. The perfect pass hour meter was within a couple hours of the ecu (it goes off engine RPM, so key on engine off, it won't count hours). Cheapest scan tool for a consumer for the ECU I have found is:
      http://www.mefiburn.com/mefiscan.asp

About $200 and it comes with a USB cable to hook up to the DLC (boats version of ODB2).

I have mostly used it for reading engine hours. Ironically, in the 8 years the previous owner owned my boat, the hour meter never reset. In the 2 years I have owned it, it has reset 2-3 times.

Easiest way is go to the dealer. They can read it for you. As long as they have the marine diacom software they can read just about any engine you'd have in a Tige.
