First, congratulations! If you are thinking about getting in a Tige in a couple years, that deal looks pretty dang good, you might even end up paying more for the same boat in two years.

I am sure you are doing the fiscally responsible thing but I gotta throw in my 2 cents as a father of three little ones.

Although it might seem like a rough time getting use when they are young, its become one of our main family activities. I have three little ones (daughters age 5, 3, and a son thats 7months old now). We have owned this boat 2 years this Jan/Feb and we had a previous Bayliner that we owner prior to my first daughter being born. Our kids love being on the boat (especially the Tige since they have room to move and play)! We love it because its something we all can do together vs many other sports/activities.

Another thing that surprised me was the number times my daughters just wanted to play in the boat in the backyard. Pretty fun times!

Good luck! Stick around here and we'll help you spend your money on a Tige when your ready

Check out my son from the Tige reunion, we added a little rear ballast and he loved playing on the platform:

Once the wife got pregnant, I think that is the time to think of something the whole family can do together. Give up something else. Now is THE time to buy the boat. Merging everyone's recreational activities into one is the best way to keep your family together.
      Be excellent to one another.

Feeling blessed and my dream of being a Tige owner is put on hold for a couple years until we move back to MN or WI. Hope someone enjoys this boat as much as I would have.
Congrats on the baby! Hopefully you can get a Tige in a few years and take them out on it and introduce them to watersports from the get go.

I made sure we got our Tige purchase in before my wife got pregnant to dodge this sort of outcome, lol. The boat is grandfathered in now!

But seriously congratulations. Hopefully it'll be lucky enough to grow up enjoying the water. Our little guy was born late may and I can say we still put a happy 60+ hours on ours this summer.

How are you gonna go to the lake while your wife is at home taking care of the baby now? Sheesh

Congrats! Hopefully it was a financial decision and not a decision made because you believed you wouldn't use the boat much with little ones. I was a little guy raised on boats in the summer and my kids follow suit, here is a picture from last fall just 2 weeks after the smallest one was born.

                  ^^^ What a great pic.

I couldn't agree more with the statements above! The best family investment, dumbest financial investment. However in this day and age, bringing my family together is the best investment. Like the others, our boat is a play toy in the garage and on the water for my kids and we'll never be without a boat. We struggle each year putting the boat in storage!! Best of luck with the new baby, just put some thought into it if it's not a financial choice.

First of all, congrats on the baby! A whole new chapter of life, my friend. All good!

                    Heres a crazy story:

This boat caused me some heartburn! I had it bought. The seller committed to my wife yesterday morning to sell it, hooked her up with his personal assistant, they were getting the title and my wife was waiting for her to email back the wiring instructions. My wife took me to lunch for my 40th informed me that she went ahead and arranged to buy the boat I was hemming and hawing over. I nearly sh'd my p's! I could not believe it, and she had never pulled this kind of stunt before! I was freaking pumped up!

But then the assistant never emailed back, the seller did not return a couple more calls and texts--meanwhile I called the selling dealer and verified the boat and the guy were in fact real--but no one got back to us. I then called the assistant today after failing to reach the seller again, and she informed me that they were mixed up, they had just received a wire transfer from a guy in Boston, and that the boat was sold. Sorry, she said.

He said he was mixed up and thought I was the other person....not sure how that could happen. There was little sympathy or explanation...so I guess it was not meant to be. Talk about a roller coaster of emotion on getting a new boat! Oh well, I had a great 40th birthday besides. I hope the new owner enjoys the boat, it was a helluva a deal.

Hmmm - that kinda sounds like a scam to me and luckily you didn't give them any money.

I honestly don't think it was a scam per se, I vetted it out pretty thouroughly. I guess it is possible still. I more than anything was disappointed in how poorly it was handled. Either way, I am fine and am neck deep into a 24Ve Extreme Makeover (Boat Edition). It gives me something to do, since my super busy job and 4 kids don't use up all of my time.
