I think I misread the post. Actually Utah is very limited on Strippers.

The biggest stripper I have seen was about 300 pounds and I am still having nightmares.

I'm not sure about Lone Rock, we stayed between the Marina and the dam. Regardless of the weather it was an unbelievable experience. I'm very grateful that we have this website to share information, in this case the information helped keep us from a potentially dangerous situation.

If you go the opposite direction from Wahweap away from the dam, then there is a great big rock in the middle of the bay. It rises about 300 feet above the water, straight vertical cliffs. There is also a nice sandy beach there. You can go all the way around it.

We got something like that. This is the pyramid at Pyramid Lake. 20min. from my house.

That smnaller rock on the left looks like it must be a serious propbuster when the lake is full. It's almost freaky how much pyramid lake looks like the rock at lone rock. I think I want to move to Reno. I read what you said on the other post and ...

I'm not recommending it. It's fun to swim under the falls and there's a fairly large overhang. I did take my old boat under there many years ago. My wife and her best friend were sitting in the back of the boat. At the last second I turned and the back of the boat was under the falls for maybe 2 seconds. Both gals lost the tops of their swimsuits and the look of surprise on their faces was priceless

I did end up with about 6" of water in my boat...amazing how much water was coming down those falls.

That is the lake when it's full. That section between the two is probably 15-20 ft. deep when it's like that. I've taken my boat through there. When the lake is low you can "walk" all the way to the pyramid from dry land. That whole thing is huge. The verticle section on the right side of the pyramid is a good 80ft. high. Unlike Lone Rock, the pyramid is actually a Tufa formation. There are hot springs all around the lake and the mineral deposits they leave behind create these "rocks". The water around the pyramid is a good 15-20 dergees warmer than the open water areas. You can find spots where you can actually see the hot water coming out of the pyramid itself. It's god's country man. Pyramyd is actually fed by Tahoe. The water that flows from Tahoe ends up at Pyramid via the Truckee River. The two lakes couldn't be more different. Pyramid is a strange place and I can't begin to tell you how much weird crap happens out there.
