    Advice for New Z3 Owner

Looking for recommendations on choosing options for a 2015 Z3 ...

The boat will be used exclusively for surfing - with riding equal between reg and goof.

Having owned tournament boats before, there are always things I "would have done differently" I could could have started over. That's where you come in on this effort ...

    Thanks for your input!

Surf Bimini is a must have IMO
If you trailer, upgrade to larger wheels, since they are wider it seems to trailer better.
The Convex VX was the way to go so I would say it is safe to assume that the AVX w w uld be worth a considerable look (no personal experience with the AVX)
I feel the helm seat upgrade may be worth it.
"Posiden" flooring if still available is fantastic!

    Good luck!

Of note, it's cheaper to buy things up front. Tigé will gouge you later if you try to add on options (i.e. Flooring, Bimini etc)

I would contest the bigger wheels. In my experience fatter tires always track worse. Granted I've never tried different tires on my trailer. It's my opinion that the bulk of your suspension is in the tire so get a high profile tire. (eg. 14" ) By their very nature, trailers often bump the curb, and a good tall tire will save your rim.

        My suggestions are:
        - surf bimini plus extension
        - convex avx
        - smallest motor
        - only 1 set of tower speakers unless you are 5' tall
        - deckadence flooring
        - heater
        - fancy seat
        - biggest ballast
        - extra cleats (mid-ship)

            surelast boat cover
            180deg mirror
Single Heater 3 vent 2 pullout

Thanks for the feedback. A few questions ...

What is "Poseidon" flooring? I see the options being Synteak or Deckadance.

What are the SD Series amps?

Also, has anyone gone with Dual Heaters?

We do a lot of surfing in the spring/fall and some extra in-boat heat would be nice.

We did add the hot water shower.

I'm ordering a 2015 and after having experience with my 2014 I agree with the previous recomendations on options.
Stick with the premium graphic and jell options, I'm not spending big money on upgraded non std colors that's for sure.

I'm duplicating my color and graphic with the exception of a blue rather than black dash.
I may add the Z cline captains chair? I've never really looked at or sat in one.

One other upgrade I may check into is the optima batteries, one hour with the stereo on and my house battery would be drained, not sure if the jell batteries go longer???

Nope. An absorbed glass mat battery like an Optima, by design, will not last longer than a wet cell lead acid. Its all about the Ah. The group-31 blue top, their largest, has about the same Ah as the stock group-24 interstate. you need more Ah either from a 2nd battery a single larger one. Making sure the batteries are recharged once off the water is crucial to their longevity and ability to recharge to near full capacity.

For the price of an Optima brand AGM, I would do a Shuriken, EX Power or Kinetik.

Poseidon mat is the decadence flooring. Much nicer than the carpet and doesn't hold water then smell/ mildew/ mold/ etc.

Dual Heater are nice but the factory set up sucks. We had to rework every boat optioned with them. The location they put them, they hack down the pull out tubes(to fit) and then the pull outs don't pull out, only pull out 6"-1 foot, the hoses rip, etc. I wouldn't pay for the second heater unless the dealer agree's to reinstall them properly for the option price. Its takes about 4-5 hours and 3 complete pull out set ups to fix it. Thats if you know how. You also have to relocate the trash can and some other stuff. I'd save the money and do it right yourself if you want it.

I run Optima's in all my classic cars. I like them because they are gel and, if rolled over, won't leak or spill. They also hold well.

I am a little surprised that you can only go an hour with the stereo before draining your primary battery. Is this normal in the Tige world?

Optima batteries are AGM, not gel, but no, its not a "Tige" thing, its an Ah thing and likely a bad battery. But I agree, if the boat rolls over, they wont leak.

Oh Yeah and the AVX is a must. Without it resale will suffer. Everyone is always wanting the latest greatest.

Anyone have a concrete price on the AVX yet??
